Sunny beach (7 mile road) is my fav chill beach! You can pull up right on the beach and no rules on drinking (or enforcement that I’ve ever seen if there is). Brewchachos on the strand is a great taco place and Galveston island brewery is a fun place, though the playground is for a bit smaller kids, my older kids still have fun there.

I would try to contact their customer relations and escalate. I called SW about a refund and the customer service person couldn’t do anything, but then I called relations, and after a 4 hour wait (yes seriously annoying) they refunded my entire itinerary and gave me flight vouchers. If you have the time, it may be worth it!

I don’t think we’ll get much of anything but it’s always smart to be prepared! Some of my essentials - lots of water, canned goods and non perishables, propane, candles, batteries. Location matters bc lots of places flood when we get a thunderstorm, smart to elevate your car if possible when we are expecting some big tropical weather. Board up windows etc if possible. I wouldn’t do that with this though, looking like some wind, maybe rain. Very hurricane Laura vibey to me

I live on a 1/2 street and I can’t tell you how many times I have to write out “and half” because many, many places will not accept the “/“ in addresses. Good luck to these folks lol

Me too! So many memories of going to the Pelican Club with my family, it was always such a big event! I know it’s still there, but it’s lost it’s appeal now that it’s just a regular restaurant imo. Still good but not the same.
