First thing in the thread to really shock me. I know hoarders exist. I know abuse exists. I did not know people who eat ice cream out of their hands exist.

Is he the kind of guy who gets hangry? Not that his behavior is reasonable or that you should put up with it. But I find myself acting petty and immature when I'm hungry. Maybe talk to him about it and see if it was hanger getting out of his control or if he really thinks it's ok to give his partner the silent treatment. Especially over something as stupid as a cold slice of a kid's pizza. Depending on his reaction, consider how irritating and stupid it is to be punished with the silent treatment by your partner, and think about if you want to build a life with someone who does that to you.

I am okay now. It really hasn't affected my daily life that much. It sucks that I have to take breathers after going up stairs or moving heavy things but it could be worse. I can do long walks and normal everyday stuff good enough, things like running and swimming can be difficult. I think I'll be able to build back up to normal.
It scared me a lot though. I didn't think it would have long term affects for me because I rarely get sick and had strong lungs. I am really lucky!

Covid gave me long term negative effects. I'm 21 and I used to be healthy. I used to play trumpet and prided myself on my lung capacity. Now it's hard to go up more than one flight of stairs and move ~25 lb boxes for my job. What long term effects is anyone even scared of with the vaccine?? We KNOW covid can (and normally does) give long term issues.
My uncle refused the vaccine and was on a ventilator for months. At one point my family celebrated the fact that he had recovered enough that he could blink to communicate with nurses. He can't use the second floor in his house now. He can't leave the house alone. He can barely get down the three steps to the driveway. How is that less scary than whatever a vaccine may do?

Honestly even self striping yarn will keep my interest really well. I would also suggest a Sophie's Universe style blanket (called mandala blankets maybe?), the different stitch patterns in each row keep me interested.
Edit: just noticed this is about knitting and not crochet, sorry! I do both and forget that not everybody does. But maybe something like a stitch sampler could scratch the same itch as a mandala blanket.

The wildlife park is great! They have lots of gorgeous birds of prey (and lots of other cool animals). It's a good place to bring kids too!

If you're looking for eagles, I see them at least once a week just driving around Androscoggin and Oxford counties. Sometimes I forget they used to be endangered!
And Ospreys nest so much at the old military base in Brunswick (The Landing?) that it's becoming sort of a nuisance. My partner works there and he was told to scare them away if they landed on telephone poles because they were building so many nests on them. You can see them lots of places along the Androscoggin River. We also see kingfishers on the river occasionally.
I see egrets and ibises pretty often driving through the marshes in and between Wells and Scarborough. Scarborough marsh is the place to be if you want to see big flocks of glossy ibises. Also cormorants (my favorite)!

So your girlfriend told you that you have the kind of dick she wants to fuck regularly forever? And you're upset about it?

I think it's sold in a different part of the deli with only pre-packaged cheeses that they won't cut for customers. I'm definitely going to look more closely next time I go though in case I can get a smaller amount!

$15/lb at my favorite grocery store. Also only sold by the pound there. I guess I'll have to wait a while to try bread cheese :(

I know everyone on this sub tells everyone else they're in abusive relationships, but "it is harmful to me but it feels so good when she is nice to me", especially when combined with the other details in your post, makes me feel like it is definitely abusive. I know you are swamped with replies to this post. I hope everything goes well for you. Know that you deserve much better than this, and that it is attainable.

I HATE those pins that are just links to a super long list of patterns full of ads and crap. I basically only use pinterest to save things I find elsewhere myself at this point. Especially for reddit posts, since if you save too many posts (I think more than 100) it just removes the oldest saved post.

I think a lot of people consider it too much of a pain to bring their own bags. I know that some of them don't like it because they consider it to be "socialist." (Source: they told me.)

I'm normally really chipper and friendly at work but I'm running out of patience with this. I'm glad that we are moving away from single use plastic but it's very irritating to deal with these people. It'll blow over in a month or so, I expect. But people keep acting like I'm trying to trick them or something. I'm literally just following a state law.

People from out of state keep coming to the store I work at and telling me they're never gonna shop here again because we are charging for the bags. "Just another place in Maine I have to stop shopping at!" Every single business in Maine is required to charge 5 cents for the bags. The owner of the business I work at wasn't even going to charge for them until they learned we are legally required to.
I don't understand the fuss. I know everyone has random nickels floating around in their cars and couches that they don't miss. But apparently a nickel for a paper bag is just outrageous!

When I had chickens, we got baby chicks and went away for a few days about a week after they were old enough to be out in the coop/run (my grandmother lives next door and took care of them for us). While we were gone we got a text saying something ripped through the chicken wire (!!!) and ate every last one! We determined it was a raccoon based on the size of the hole and the gray fur stuck in the wire. We still had all our adult chickens but it was very sad!!! So I sympathize. I'm sorry about your chickens :(

My mom's house is like this. I'm noseblind to it now unless it's really bad. I have lots of gross habits I'm trying to grow out of now that I'm old enough to understand how disgusting it all is.
