This looks vintage so your best bet is eBay and the like. Tons of kits on there. I did a quick search and didn’t see this one but you never know when what you’re looking for will pop up (I’ve had some searches going for YEARS lol).

This happened to me. Was in the building for a meeting in the library. Got off on the wrong floor. Figured, oh I’m in the museum now, I’ll wander for a bit. Turned a corner into a piece of the steel frame and a crushed fire truck. Instant breakdown. (I for years saved all the newspapers/magazines from that time but I never looked at them or watched any footage).

OP, I love this! I’m gonna need you to do this quarterly so I can transition into each new season, lol.

Kind of in a similar boat, and all my basics in the past year have come from Costco (don’t judge lol).

Thank you for this. I double checked the new listing and it just brings you to the main site, so I can’t reapply. But I realized I tangentially know someone there so I’m reaching out just in case. Applying for jobs truly does suck, especially when you are trying to make a career change.

So I applied for a job on aug 15th that was posted aug 3, directly thru the company site. I now see it posted on a 3rd party related site with slightly different verbiage (which would have influenced my cover letter a little) and the salary. This new post states that reviews will start sept 28 with priority given to applications received before then (the original post has none of this info). Should I be worried that this means I’m not even being considered? Somewhat confused as to why there is more detail in this listing than the company page. Sorry if this is all obvious to some people, I’ve only worked in bars/restaurants where hiring is barely formal.

I’m newish to Syracuse and have yet to really explore Ithaca at all- however my father went to Cornell and keeps telling me to visit the gardens there and also Taughannock Falls. I did have a nice time on the lawn at Ithaca Beer Co last summer. And I hear they have a good farmers market on Saturdays.

As for the Finger Lakes, we’ve just driven around here and there without a plan. Lucky Hare brewing was good. And I hear FLX Wienery is good too- haven’t been there but have gone to FLX fry bird in Geneva, which was good. They have a smaller sit down place which I hear is excellent, FLX table. And also in Geneva Kindred Fare is good.

Sorry I realize this is mostly food/drinks, not sure if you’re looking for anything specific.

I’ll be following this thread w interest to see what hidden gems people recommend. And also, please let me know about your trip after- either here or in DM!

Yes to pets, my cat just got a booster so I think she’s good for 3 years.

Thanks for your answer. My shots were sometime between 2011 and 2015 (I have my card somewhere) so I was just curious since it wasn’t something I thought about but now with vaccines in the news all the time and the comment from that guy I just wondered.

So I once woke up to a bat in my apt and subsequently got the vaccine on recommendation of my county health dept. My question to you is, am I protected for life now? After that incident I actually waited on people who were in town for a bat conference and one of them jokingly said I should work with them since I was inoculated…

Tavour.com has gift boxes and subscriptions- great if he’s a craft beer drinker!

So I was randomly browsing /r/DrugStoreMUA the other day and I’m pretty sure there’s a post about dupes there!

Edit: found it-

If you are US based try calling your county health department.

If you wake up to a bat in the room with you, a rabies shot is recommended bc their fangs leave marks so tiny they can barely be seen.

Source: myself, who was advised to come in for shots by my county health department after I called. The caveat to this is if you are able to catch it then it will get tested so you know if you need shots or not. I could not catch the one in my apartment.

Thanks for the recommendation! I haven’t done any research yet, I just know that my favorite bbq place is KC style so it made me want to visit.

Been wanting to visit for years for some bbq- glad to have an attraction to add to my list!

All my mugs are vintage/thrifted but I definitely have them sorted into seasons in my mind! My small stoneware with a flower is my spring mug, my Taylor & Ng’s are my winter tea mugs (due to their large size). Lake placid Winter Olympics for winter coffee. Cold brew all summer so no mugs necessary. I do stalk my ideal fall mug on eBay but refuse to buy it bc I’d really like to find it in the wild! (I know, I’m weird lol).

But anyway, agree with the others- if you want a fall mug, go shopping! Such a small thing to treat yourself to and the options will be endless (Marshall’s and Home Goods are great for this kind of thing if you’re not into thrifted items).

Just looked her up- is it crazy that I LOVE that kitchen in the new (old) house?! I do tend to have a soft spot for the era I was born in tho (too many Judy Blume novels as a kid?). Anyway now I’m having fun thinking about how this could be updated without looking too modern/current or losing some of the charm!

PS and the bathroom being an exact copy is adorable.

Wow thank you for this! I love learning about niche products. I may get the earplugs, they seem amazing - ( my hearing isn’t great after years of working in bars, and more recently on a canning line). The cost seems absolutely worth it. Did you get ear molds done?
