I started selling covered calls within past 3 months. Most of the time it has been buying stocks then selling OTM weekly calls that are close to stock price. I look at is as if it exercises I got 5+% return in a week and if it doesn’t it helps lower my amount in the stock and I’ll keep selling. I struggle with selling stocks at a loss so it can get you stuck if it ends up dropping a decent amount quickly. I’m in some shares of BB at around 19, so I can’t sell calls on these and make any premium. But with PLTR I’ve been able to lower my basis about $4 in a month or so.

I use to fret about making big purchases for luxury items. What finally hit it for me was this last year, when the markets tanked. My net worth was probably around $500-600,000 and it dipped $70,000 in 2 months. Updating my spreadsheets, I realized my projected retirement date was 10 months later than before. I was looking at a new vehicle at the time, and this helped me realize I could make a big purchase like that, and in the big picture it doesn’t have much of an impact. If you’ve built early, like you said the FV of that will have lots of time to grow.

I’m pretty close to the time but I try to read ahead. So if I have 5 veggies to cut but the first cooking step is to put onion in pan, I’ll cut onion and throw in the pan and go back to cutting rest of veggies. Always try to have something cooking so you’re not doing prep while nothing else is happening.

One word of wisdom is to look into the 457b and the benefits like able to withdraw penalty free upon separation. If you roll into IRA, I think you’d be subject to a penalty for early withdrawals.

The thing I struggle with is finding the right water. They say something like 90% of the fish in 10% of water. I fished at south lido park a couple times and had a good time, caught flounder, black drum, jack, and probably whiting.
