For me it’s because as a performer I’ve witnessed her growth and have seen how much she actually gives a damn. On top of that she seems like a genuinely decent person.

The thing people are missing with a guy like JONAH is it’s so much more than just the job.

He’s moved his wife/life over to America. No job = no visa. If he wants to stay, he needs a company that’ll sign off on him. PWG or other indies can’t do that. He needs ROH, Impact, AEW. He can’t do that he has to leave the country.

I would agree but too many times they’ve done it to people who are their top merch sellers for no rhyme or reason for me to think otherwise.

Dude it’s literally what WWE puts in our faces every week. It has nothing to do with dirtsheets/politics etc.

There’s rarely a fulfilling payoff and when the fans are enjoying something, if WWE is mad about it, they’ll bury it on the spot.

How many times have they put the kabash on something getting over because they didn’t expect it to?

How many times have they separated a group that was working to do absolutely nothing with the talent.

How many times have they trotted out the same “we’re listening to you! You’re in charge!” For nothing to change.

How many times have they built up a storyline people cared about only to drop it because they felt like it and at the end of the day “who cares? We have their money anyway”

I’m sure you could think of a number of examples for each of the scenarios I put out, and I’m sure you could come up with a few scenarios yourself. And that’s only on the creative side.

Nothing about the AEW product is cynical. Everything about the way WWE treats its fans, talent, and product is cynical. If you can’t see that I don’t know what to tell you.

It’s definitely an area that they’ve had growing pains in, but a big difference is WWE specifically aims their storytelling for the package.

AEW is actually interested in telling a story, not to get clips to make the best package possible before the big match.

I think the reason is — what is happening with AEW right now is validating everyones feeling towards WWE that they had for years watching and having only that product (excluding indies/Japan etc)

That validation feels good but it’s also frustrating because ultimately it didn’t have to be that way.

Nights like tonight are why we love wrestling.
