Yes it was on balance a justified course of action 20 years ago. I think most of reddit conflates it with the Iraq war which was always a cynical money grab.

In my experience it really isn't cheaper to stay in the UK at all, quite the opposite in fact.

Unfortunately each one of these stupid cunts will infect at least one other person, probably more due to their behaviour.

It's not her natural accent, she's putting on a Manchester accent. A fun fact is that the actor that plays Frasier's dad (John Mahoney) was originally from Manchester and used to coach her on the accent.

I'm double jabbed and still caught the fucking thing. It was a very unpleasant for a week. Dread to think what it would be like without the vaccine being active in my body.

Thanks, I was wondering about the wisdom of routinely giving out large doses of (probably unnecessary) antibiotics given the rise of antibiotic resistant bugs.

Yes, very true. I don't think anyone saw Afghanistan as a 20 year project that would end up where it started.

Afghanistan and Iraq were polar opposite situations though; Afghanistan was a basket case full of Al-Qaeda training camps, and Al-Qaeda had just flown passenger airlines into the World Trade Centre and the Pentagon. The Afgan invasion was a wide coalition with UN support. It was popular.
Invading Iraq was a cash grab for oil and mercenaries that had huge opposition at the time (two million people marched against it in London for example). It required 'dodgy dossiers' and lies about WMDs to justify it, and had very limited international support.

And don't forget that a huge percentage of voters just see any wrong doing as justifying not even bothering to vote, because: 'they're all the same'...

It's not really debt anyway. The Torys have discovered MMT but obviously they are are not going to tell anyone that.

Oh no doubt it benefits plenty of domestic interests - there are reasons for senators having odd July 4th meetings in Russia - but it really shouldn't be understated just how much the Russians are committed to disinformation. This is just one well known troll farm. . The Saudis, Israelis and the gulf states also like to play. Lots of willing useful idiots to swallow it up and pass it on.
