Speaking from personal experience only, but I played Tinkerer in a 2-player campaign as my first experience with gloomhaven (other player was spellweaver) and I quit for a few months out of frustration with how bad the character was. Thankfully, I've gotten back into it and am enjoying the heck out of my cragheart!
