Hahaha, well I currently have a slow coolant leak that I have to find, and a couple of codes that I have to track down too. I figure I've gotten plenty of years out of her even if she does die, but I've been able to keep her going all this time

I know on the box it specifically talked about ethanol. I grabbed some and plan on using it each time I get gas (just got a boat and I'm currently having some of the bolts unsiezed by one of the shops near me since I couldn't get them off). I figure that way if I don't take it out I'll be protected

They make marine stabil, I would think they would neutralize any issues with using ethanol gas. Is there any harm in putting it in every tank when you fill up?

I think I'm one of the few that has never had my e46 leave me stranded. I've certainly had issues over the last 15 years, but she's always run and gotten me where I needed to go

It probably rolled back the firmware. Do the update from the nook website, it's related to the tls security update

Same thing happened to me with ring fit adventure. Sucks

I was told I'd be part of the PC preview, but none of the links work to actually download the game or follow the instructions, nor did I get a code within the messages. Sucks.

Are these worth anything other than just the value of gold? I have three of them (not that year though) but I thought they were just worth the gold

I think that insurance companies should refuse to pay for covid related treatment if you aren't vaccinated. Maybe they have to wait until it's fully approved or whatever, but I think that should be the rule

It looks like they are, at least according to the mercury tech that answered my question online. I grabbed one of the vessel view adapters and I think I'm gonna grab a Merc monitor to replace my broken tach

Sorry I keep bothering you with questions, but I'm having a hell of a time finding an answer for this one. I'm looking at getting smartcraft gauges to replace the bad tach one; do you know if they work with this boat? I'd prefer to get either the mercmonitor one, or the vesselview mobile adapter, as those seem to be the most practical from an information standpoint. The manual says that the engine is smartcraft capable, but I can't find an answer anywhere

I actually have the manual for the boat too (although it's the one for your boat actually, the EX2100). This guy kept everything.

It's the Optimax 250 M2. He actually has a whole file with the manual and everything. I'm just now starting to go through it all. I want to look into getting replacement gauges; are those generic or just by manufacturer?

I ended up getting it for 8000, we ran it around on the water and it ran well. I got his maintenance history from the shop he took it to but I'm unsure if their descriptions included swapping the lube and stuff, so I'm just gonna do it myself. It'll give me a chance to take a look at the impeller and everything too and see if I need to have those redone. Do you use a cover for your boat? He gave me one but it's not in great condition so I'd like to grab a new one. Didn't know if you had any recommendations

Boat looked to be in good condition, trailer too. Needs some cleaning and a little elbow grease but that's normal. A few lights are out on the trailer he said, but that's an easy fix. Only problems he stated were that the Stern light doesn't work and the hours counter for the motor stopped working around 600 hours (he said it's between 600-700). Price is also down to 8500, and he seemed to be willing to negotiate down lower as well, so we'll see. I wanna take it out on the water before I decide on anything

Wow, well that sounds way better than my friends boat, he burns through a whole tank within a few hours

COMMENT Jul 20 '21
Oh! One other question for you if you don't mind. How is the gas usage with your boat? Do you have any idea how far you can go on a tank? I have a friend with an i/o and his seems to guzzle gas

Hahaha, I love that stupid car not matter how many times the check engine light comes on right after I fixed the last issue. Thanks so much for your help! You've given me a lot of great information!

That sounds great! I am mechanically inclined, I just hope that I can find enough info on the engine to be able to work on it. I already found an annual service document for it, although I'm not sure if this has the 240 or 250 hp motor in it (and if there's any difference). Would I not need to worry about the stringers just because of the build quality? Looking out for those was brought up in another forum I went to.
The guy I'm buying it from is asking 10k, which includes the trailer. Any idea if that's a decent price? According to NADA it seems like he's high (they're saying 6500-7500, including the trailer) but I don't know how accurate NADA is. From the pictures, it looks to be in really good shape, but I'll see it in person tonight

Location: USA, Maryland
Price range: 7000-30,000
Lease or Buy: Buy
New or used: Either but preferably used
Type of vehicle: SUV or Truck
Must haves: Towing capacity of 4500 lbs or greater, prefer better fuel economy
Desired transmission (auto/manual, etc): auto
Intended use: daily driver
Vehicles you've already considered: n/a
Is this your 1st vehicle: no
Do you need a Warranty: no
Can you do Minor work on your own vehicle: yes
Can you do Major work on your own vehicle: some but probably no
Additional Notes: need it to pull a boat we recently purchased. The boat itself is 2050 pounds (without fuel or gear) so I figured that 4500 would be enough. This would probably be my wife's car, and she drives much further than I do so the gas mileage is semi important (although we could just replace my car first as I only drive about 10-20 miles a day)
