Definitely easy to find for most sets, unless you wanted to dip into to pit. Also, how bout them clean AF portopottys?! Hula better be on their porto game 'cause somehow I only found one dirty seat and one without a surplus of TP the whole weekend.

Your ms is very lucky to have someone who is willing to learn! Some extra pro advice: we can be very picky about brands... might as well just ask her to shoot you a pic of the box she prefers so you can grab the right stuff. And keep a liner in your bathroom trash can. And empty it on the reg, just in case.

Heck yeah! I'm riding high on a festival first... I found myself in 2 artist photos from stage on insta AND in one of the daily recap videos! Hope my work schedule works out for next year's scamp!!

Many years of Car Talk reruns on NPR beg to differ.... these guys could diagnose problems from the caller making the sound. However, they always loved it when a caller recorded the sound and played it back (much less common with tapes in the 90s).

Thanks for linking the EF thread!

Maybe it's the Spanish moss, maybe it's the Halloween theme, maybe it's that it's the end of festival season... but hula has this magical ethereal glow to it, for me.

I've been wanting to go to EF since it was Rothbury, but now that I live up north and have had a chance to meet so many people with great EF stories... I just want to go to hula. I think having the campground be a donut around the venue helps, as no one has a terrible walk to at least one stage. Maybe it's that the journey there and back is such a bitch that it's part of the adventure, I'm honestly not sure, besides that hula just feels like home.

Someone commented in this thread a link to where it's shown up before. I'd give them another week or so to catalog everything that wasn't claimed though. Could also try any contact email from the scamp app or website. Unfortunately, I'm not sure otherwise.

I feel the pain, fam. It's like you always lose your favorite thing when you're finally rocking it. I actually made a poor man's glasses strap for my fave sunglasses out of duct tape and paracord on Friday morning because I had a feeling I'd lose the only pair I brought if I didn't.

If you get lucky and get that pin back or find another, I've heard there are screw-on pin backs that are a lot harder to lose. Don't have any experience with them though...

I'm guessing they're waiting to see what happens after scamp and bonaroo... where scamp had no official rules and roo does before issuing rules or not. I was really worried about crowds, but just did scamp and aside from the two sets that I decided I needed to be on the rail, it was surprisingly easy to stay distanced from other groups. Regardless of hula's rules, definitely the responsible choice to have a testing and masking plan before and after.

Hope someone found it and turned it in. My festie brother almost called a pashmina a ground score before he noticed it had a few pins on it so he turned it in. Here's hoping whoever found yours did the same and you can contact L&F for it.

Saline spray rinse helps. Also, coating the inside of your nose holes with Vaseline or neosporin helps loosen the dried crud up. Doing it to the outside will help with the soreness from rubbing with tissues. An expectorant like mucinex can help make the cough more productive. I've been miserable since Sunday afternoon but luckily all the black gunk in my mucus is gone and I feel like I'm about halfway through recovering from all that dust. I've never had this problem with dust at a fest and didn't even think about wearing a mask to help with it.

In a normal year, this weekend wouldn't have worked, but also in a normal year, I don't think I can make Memorial Day weekend work. Really glad I finally got to scamp, and not sure if I can work my schedule to make it happen again. Glad we did it, though. That was a fucking blast!

Definitely! I love picking up a Hotspot for trips! With no festivals last year I did maybe 7-10 solo camping trips and it was really great to pick one up just in case I need some extra coverage for safety and peace of mind.

Congrats!!! You are going to have a blast! Hula is a whole other world of wonderful.

Didn't they play Thursday and Friday in 19?

Super stoked for Greensky at hula - I need me some bluegrass jams and they're definitely top 3 in that category for me.

I've got a skull dress I love for hula. Nice and breezy with some bike shorts underneath. I usually pack too light for costumes, but I thrifted a new funky pattern dress and a great paisley flowy tank before scamp last weekend that were great to have in the heat. Likely will layer with my fave pashmina at night. Flying in and hoping to keep to minimal clothes 😉

It's a long shot, but your local library might rent out hotspots. My library has AT&T/TMobile hotspots, but I have Verizon, so when I go (just regular) camping I'll reserve one so I can likely get service across one of those devices.

Like others said, it's definitely the toll that an extra 20k people put on the local towers more than anything. Service is best when most people aren't trying to use their phones, so if you can get up a bit early (probably between 7 and 9 or 10 at the latest) to check your email, you'll probably have better luck than midday no matter which carrier you have.

Love it! We wound up behind the dead heads right at the fence. That row should be labeled "this is fucking far but man we're lucky to get some good sleep out here"

My first scamp as well. Had an amazing time, great neighbors, great music, couldn't have asked for much more! I'm still trying to soak in some of those juicy details (did I seriously get to spend the whole Frasco set on the rail?!?!?!?!)

I've got a nasty case of too much dust in my nose and lungs and it's the worst allergy fit I've had in a long time, but tonight's covid test was negative... looking forward to the next 2 tests this week before I unmask around my fam. Here's hoping that we can all make it back for another awesome scamp next year!

Portos were freaking CLEAN! My crew and I were really impressed. I think I walked into one that had some dried puke on the seat, but zero with mystery pee everywhere. Only once did I find one that didn't have TP. We were seriously impressed considering how hard everyone was going.

You're in PA?! How about Nelsonville in Ohio?! Cool vibes, small fest, great music!

Do you work with any jewelry makers? I can see this technique being killer as a pendant necklace or earrings set in epoxy.

I would highly suggest not doing it. Especially if your car looks like it might be going to a fest. It's better to have a small (legal) trailer or a rooftop bag, as they don't block your view. If you're going to have your rear window blocked, you should be able to see out of all your side windows.

And if you really have no choice, give highway patrol no other reason to pull you over. Speed limit, lights on, stay to the right, move over for any stopped vehicle, don't touch your phone, etc.

And for the love of getting there safely, make sure you have up-to-date copies of insurance and registration. If your license isn't current, have your buddy drive. Be polite. Don't smoke a joint in the car.
