Took me 8 years (including 3 years as a trainee)... But since then it's gone up enough that I'm averaging 6 figures over the 17 years I've been doing it. Got to love accounting!

Towels on the floor followed by a shower!

Lever is for fine tuning the length of the guard.

I'm guessing that's just your normal cutlery on the wall behind you?

Fair point... I think it's going to weigh about 600lbs when finished, and will be quite open - so no risk with this particular design - but depends what you build I guess!

Yep! Not so keen on the kids playing in a giant litter tray 🤢

At the moment it's freestanding, but only because we're moving house soon... At the new house I will put concrete slabs down as a minimum... I was planning on anchoring it... But having seen it here I'm not sure that's necessary. It's 5' x 5' and happily takes a grown man swinging from it!

Sand box, that's a good idea...

Not yet, it's C24 kiln dried and pressure treated wood, meant for building exterior decking... I'll give it a clean and a quick coat of decking sealant once a year

It was £300 - but I've not used it all yet... What you see in the photo was probably about £220 - and the 4 inch corner posts were £80 of that, so could have gone cheaper if I'd not over-engineered it so much

Thanks! The youngest already climbed to the top rung of the ladder, scared the crap out of me as he's only 18 months 🤣

www.biggamehunters.co.uk - looks like you're in the states though so won't be much help! Just checked out your climbing frame - looking good man 👍

Not very often people say that about the UK! It's back to grey skies again now 🤣

Not sure I have light enough hands but thanks for the tip!

Thanks for the tip!

Thanks! I'll give that a try...

Thanks... I don't have one (I bought all the tools I used at the start of this project!) but can pick one up... Would that work cross grain on softwood? I can image it causing it to chip/split

2

COMMENT May 10 '20

Haha fair enough! It's not an aesthetic question, I just want to avoid sharp corners for little fingers 🙂

Also... Any suggestions on the best way to round off the edges of the wood? I tried using my electric hand sander but it just rips the sanding sheets... And my hand file is taking a lot of effort!

I've never built anything before, but the boys missed going to the playground and the local lumber yard was doing quarantine deliveries... Still a work in progress but it's ready for playtime!

'Best' response to this I heard was "if I told you there were 5 items of furniture in my dining room and 4 of them were chairs, would you think the 5th one was a chair as well?"

When little kids point at you and shout "look mummy, it's a baddie!"

Does anyone know how to see your Max Speed on every ride? Sometimes it's there, sometimes not!
