I almost cried reading your post. It really resonated with me. Thank you for writing this and bringing awareness to this duality of loving being a mom but also mourning the individual we once were. I have a sense of loss, yet I am happy.

Little kids AND parents can be assholes not gonna lie. I would definitely say something like “be careful guys” or “this is not a nice game to play - we don’t like excluding others” If my kid did what u described, as a mom, I would be extremely apologetic and try to make it right. I have a 3 yo and a 15 month old. I feel for you.

My toddler doesn’t want to listen to me specially when we are in front of other people. I always feel so self conscious about it.

I have done it with both my toddlers and plan on giving them the vaccines this year too. I told them something like this “okay, we are going to the doctors office. The doctor will you a small ouchie and it may hurt a bit , but you need this to protect you from getting sick. Theres medicine inside them, and all the family-name every family member possible-will get it too. “ They both cried during the shot but it was super quick. They have completely forgotten.

But that’s what they are doing … giving life saving medication to all for free! This will protect you from getting very sick or dying from COVID, but if many people decide not to take it then the virus won’t stop spreading and mutating eventually rendering the vaccine ineffective. This is what’s happening right now, since there are so many unvaccinated individuals new variants come out causing the vaccine to be less effective against the virus, so that even us vaccinated folks get sick. That is why we care if you don’t vaccinate, not because we are trying to take away your freedoms and liberties.
