You mean Power Wheels, the things that have been super popular for 3 decades?

Just so you know and are prepared, you're going to work a job full time and also be a full time parent. It's a 2 person job. Actually it's a 4 person job at least. Be prepared to come home and 'relieve' her of her 'shift' and start your second job. It will definitely help that she won't work but she's going to need every bit of support you can muster on next to no sleep. The first 4 months for me were coming home, taking over, getting bits of sleep in between activity, then going to work. Maybe 3 to 5 hours of sleep, not all at once sometimes. Then they get into a good night sleep cycle and it gets a tiny bit easier.

What I'm saying is you're going to have 2 new jobs, ha.

The other (heavily downvoted) commenter has phrased his comment such that he is not on the side of the woman bring targeted. It reads "everyone else is defending her, but I am not." Thus the downvotes. You are not wrong and could be asked, but it does not appear to be that commenter's intention.

Wherever the fuck they want, it's a beach, mind your own god damned business and enjoy the beach. It could be nipple tassels and a piece of wayward yarn. Or topless, That thing that is normal in many other places.

Lazboy is upwards of 10 months, depending on what you're getting. Ask me how i know

I've never torn apart a pin block but apparently the pins are just threaded into hard laminated wood and only are good for so many turns until you have to throw the entire thing in the trash and make a new bespoke pin block for that piano by hand? What?

This is a gross oversimplification, perhaps not totally untrue but not totally true either. The pins are 'threaded' but not in quite the way most people think. The pinblock is pretty robust and if it's in good shape cane be reused in a restringing job. You move up in pin size and prep the holes specific ways to end up with perfect torque. If the pinblock is cracked in some fashion somewhere in the lamination, then yes it must be replaced, but if you're rebuilding a piano it's a drop in the bucket.

I'm also oversimplifying all this.

Full piano rebuilds are 15 to 30k depending on the piano. The action parts alone put action rebuilds in the 6 to 8 range. Tons of variables. Which is why most pianos do not get rebuilt.

I've never seen any building capable of maintaining within 5 to 10 percent consistently in every individual room for the entire calendar year. There's always variability. Now I'm not going to make any assumptions about you or your home. You do you if you want to constantly monitor the area around the piano and manually control it is that's easier. But a piano system (even just the dehumidifier depending on the region) takes all of that and does it much more accurately 24/7. But that's just me.

I hate the stilt village. I'm only 2BC. Any time I ever go there it's a dice roll. So much chaos.

COMMENT 15d ago

skip the acclimation period. install a dampp-chaser (DH, humidifier, or both) and forget about it, you're done. no more waiting, no more guessing. The piano will last longer. Everyone wins.

1

COMMENT 15d ago

yeah, the whole waiting myth needs to die. If your home is changing, your piano is changing. and the home is always changing. I always push Dampp chaser dehumidifiers around here because otherwise what is the point. A lot of people focus on 'oh the factory, the show floor, this home that home.' Nah.... everything is fluctuating everywhere all the time. control it! done.

pitch raising isn't as big a deal as many make it out to be. You can drag a piano back up to pitch from 200 cents flat just fine, then do an actual tuning and it'll be fine. will it be as nice and perfect and stable as normal? no. But there's no reason to spread it out. do it, tune it, tell them to tune it again in 3 to 6 months after it has settled down. 40 years is nothing if the piano has nothing wrong with it otherwise. pitch-raise, tune, good day sir, see you at the next appointment in the spring.

kawai and mason&hamlin use carbon fiber for the action. You can rebuild your own action with them.

All of their games' dlc are very overpriced. 12 bucks for a minor addition to the game, multiple times? Fuck that. Sure it eventually goes on sale but not more that 25-50% off unless it's real old. $4 makes sense. I love the game. Hate their dlc price model

We learned a lesson when we were on a vacation and took a chance on dining out at a popular place with our 3 year old. Got there, hour wait, finally seating, music blaring, it's 9pm, he is fucking melting down out of his mind, food took so long we asked them to box it and we got the fuck out. Learned a very valuable lesson!

If you come down way vertical on it in just the right way you can pinch it right out the back. Pretty hard to do, but when I was younger I did it once with a really bad swing.

If it's a reality production on tv, it is almost entirely BS. It's entertainment. It's there to make money. I don't know why people don't realize this. Just enjoy it for what it is.

Lol Nick's very first episode was so wildly bad. Couldn't act their way out of a paper bag. They literally had a dude in a black morph suit squirming around in the background. I would assume Nick left because zak wasn't faking enough evidence (it's a reality show, everything is fake anyway)
