Oahu resident here. Our mayor just announced today that starting Sept 13 businesses will require patrons to show their vaccination card to enter the premises. Unvaccinated people can still do takeout, drive-throughs, and pick ups, just can’t sit and dine or walk around in a store. Masks are required indoors and in crowded outdoor areas. Gatherings are limited to 10 indoors and 25 outdoors.
We are not doing well here. Our cases have been reaching 1,000+ for a while, which doesn’t sound like much compared to other states, but our population is small and vulnerable. We don’t have the ability to drive or fly quickly to another state when our hospitals fill up. A few have already reached critical capacity and are filled with covid patients. We’re at the point where non-covid emergencies like heart attacks are unable to find a bed for hours.
Our governor is asking all visitors to please reconsider visiting Hawaii right now because if anything happens to you while you are here, Covid or otherwise, we may not be able to help you with our limited resources.

Nah, she’s doing this with the kids in the car. You can see one of their arms behind her. To me, that’s even more alarming. Her car plexus shill videos are so quiet. No kids chatting or laughing, even the littlest ones. Precious mama trained her brood so they don’t make a peep in her videos until she wants them to.

I’m not a runner, so I’m not sure if this is the right solution for your problem, but I’ve seen silicone mask brace/face brackets that are made to go under your mask and keep the fabric away from your mouth.

I really want to know if Heidi’s kids watch these videos and cringe with us. Except Bethany, she probably sees this more as intruding on her “thing” of making awkward off-brand tiktoks

You know what some people swear by, has little to no risk, is over the counter, and FREE?!?! The damn vaccine. Why not try it?
It is life or death and they’re willing to try anything except for the vaccine that has been helping millions around the world.

Oh my god that’s so much worse. I have no interest in watching season 2 and adding my data to the Netflix algorithm. I’m not teaching at the moment, so I don’t have to worry about keeping up with what the teens are watching. I hope interest in the show dies out before it does more harm.

Yup, I told my advisory kids (since they were the ones talking about it daily) that I know I couldn’t stop them from watching it, but that they should watch it with an adult and understand that the actions in the show are not healthy or realistic. And to talk to a trusted adult if they were having their own feelings of helplessness or depression, or thoughts of hurting themselves.

It’s been a few years and I only watched season 1, but I remember several scenes after her death where the boy narrator would see glimpses of her in the hallway at school and other places.

If the mall is closed and the parking lot is empty, I’m pretty sure security would inform you that you are trespassing and tell you to leave.

Churches are used for more than weddings and pictures. There could have been a funeral, a christening, a church service, or another group that had previously reserved time for that space. And if they’re the type to show up with their entire bridal party in tow, they’re probably also not the type to just take a picture in the front and leave. If the minister wasn’t there they would probably have tried to take other photos around the grounds and that can open up the church to liability if anyone gets hurt or something is damaged.
Just because it’s your wedding doesn’t give you the right to take pictures at any place you’d like to without permission from the caretakers.

I used to teach middle school and one day we had a mandatory assembly. Teachers and students were told it was an anti-bullying/suicide awareness assembly. It ended up being the author of 13 Reasons Why (this was several years ago, when it was just a book and they were in the planning stages of the tv production) doing a promotional tour. It was absolutely the lamest assembly I’ve ever attended in my life. He kept name-dropping that the tv show might feature Selena Gomez.
After the assembly I rented the book to see if it would work as a class novel but in the first couple chapters it had a blowjob scene and it was downhill from there, so yeah, not something I’d have my class of 12-13 year olds read together.
A couple years later the Netflix series came out and I watched it out of curiosity and because my kids were watching and talking about it. It was worse than the book because it romanticized suicide even more by actually showing the dead girl as a phantom character.
The author claims that he wrote it to help prevent teen suicide but IMO he made it worse by giving a false image of suicide and finality of death.

She’s perfectly fine with broadcasting her body odor status across the internet, but when someone asks if she’s vaccinated she wants to keep personal information private.

Not OP, but I imagine it could be a couple things. Maybe he was making it up on the spot and his facial expressions/body language gave it away. Or perhaps it happened fairly recently and they were too young to the point where it wouldn’t make sense. For example, I’ve been married for nearly a decade and I was in middle school when 9/11 happened.

They’re referring to Emmy Raver-Lampman’s role as Allison on Umbrella Academy. On the show she has a superpower that allows her to control other people by saying “I heard a rumor”. For example, “I heard a rumor that you punched yourself in the face” and then the person would do it

I’m both a Mormon and a BYU alumn, so I’m fairly aware of how bizarre BYU students and clubs can be. But I checked out this IG account and they have pro-LGBTQ+ content and their other posts, especially their highlights, are much more obvious satire.
