Lol. Thanks. And you're most welcome. Just have picked these up from people who have gone thru this too. Little bits here and there. Other people sharing sage advice.

Make sure you have your meds refilled before the storm. Have a great first aid kit including aspirin, tylenol, pain meds, etc. When hurricanes hit, I always get a migraine. That barometric pressure hits hard and relief is needed.

Try not to go exploring as much as possible. Trees, water, powerlines are potential death dealers.

Empty a little water out of a water bottle and let it freeze on its side. When it has, sit it upright before the storm hits and electricity goes out. You'll have a better clue of when the fridge has lost power as it melts and refreezes right side up. Don't take chances with eating perishable food. ALSO, take pictures of your spoiled food since you may be able to claim it if you file damages with your insurance.

Leave if you are not sure about the storm. No shame in just packing and going out of state. Plan for time on the road if there is a major exodus out of the area. But realize if a major storm hits, you may not be able to get back as quickly as you expect. If you're friendly with your neighbors, exchange number so you can get current news on the area.

Buying supplies a little at the time throughout the year helps prep. Also, learned this from my guy, but powdered Ensure or supplement like that. Just add water and it helps as an addition for nutrients during an outage.

Most pets will freak out. They can sense the change in weather. Will hide so if you can make a nice comfortable place for them, do. Blankets and pet bed in the closet helped my babes deal with the storm.

So many sentences you used to shift the blame of assholery onto your wife but your last sentence sums it up. "There are plenty of other snacks for her to eat." You didn't think of that when you went hunting for something to eat among yours or your kids snacks?
