You have options as to when you can safeword and have a talk. You can do it now before any punishments are dealt. Or you can do it when the punishments are actually being dealt.

It seems that it was negotiated that removing a collar without permission is punishable. But what wasn't was the severity of the punishment. If you've never tried such a punishment of tease and denial but are willing to, maybe you can decide to try it. If not, then have the talk sooner.
