I normally am able to get good tips, however last night was busy, but not as plentiful as I would expect a busy night to be.

Tips are optional and my service doesn't stray even if I can tell I'm not going to be tipped.

It's more the irony of the situation that annoyed me the most. I chose to work when I could have been getting unemployment, it was labor day, people should be celebrating workers, but yet some of them didn't.

Paying a living wage is an alternative for restaurants, however it's rarely successful anywhere in the US, where tipping culture is prominent.

All businesses are having a labor shortage because some people would rather get government handouts than having to work, even if it's less money.
