That’s the way I’ve always understood it: I keep my job but stop contributing to retirement (I.e. more fun money)

Had a hefty chunk of cash saved for a new house down payment but with the housing market being so nuts am just throwing most of it at house improvements - painting, landscaping, new deck, driveway, etc. It's kind of an investment as far as resale value goes although I know one's house shouldn't been seen as such. It's the battle of keep saving/investing vs enjoying where you live and perhaps make some more $ if/when it comes time to sell. Hard to switch the brain over.

Congrats on the house! It's been insane in MSP for a while now; wanted to move ourselves but the market is so nuts put it on the backburner for a while.
Re: brokerage accounts, you can setup one for each of you; there's really no benefit of a joint account outside of condensing accounts, especially if you're unmarried. It's incredibly simple to set them up and even setup auto-deposits so you don't have to think about them. Vanguard, Fidelity, Schwab, etc. are all good.

I know nothing about Bob other than he's hilarious but have heard he's a bit of a workaholic and puts himself under stress, hope he recovers well and takes it easy if those things are true, he seems like a tremendous person.

If you mention to your doctor you have a family history of heart disease you can get some tests.

Agree with the therapist suggestion which if you have health insurance may be covered or inexpensive; there may be something bothering you subconsciously inciting a stress reaction

In the midwest hasn't been bad however this will undoubtedly increase home charging solutions. Can't imagine having to rely on superchargers on the west coast.

I went to a Wolves game against Dallas specifically to see Luka, stands full of kids wearing Luka shirts, place was packed. The Mavs come out and Luka didn't even dress, healthy scratch. I'd say 1/3rd of the crown left by halftime. The moral of the story of course is don't be a Twolves fan.

Simple Path to Wealth is US-centric and he talks a lot about US funds (VTSAX). If you already know the basics it might be boring for you; the book is essentially an aggregate of his blog series here. Your Money or Your Life is a good one as well, more about the philosophy.

“The Dynasty” is a pretty good book about the Pats that goes a little bit into TB, although there’s a chapter you might not like so much. As a fan of a non-Pats AFC east team I came to appreciate him long ago, although I’m glad he’s out of the division

The Town
Unpopular opinion: The Town is just a shitty version of Heat set in Boston with shallow characters

Always amazed people mix up Damon and Wahlberg as they're so clearly different to me, then again I thought Sean Astin was in Entourage for the entire run of the show (it was Kevin Connelly).
