If they sat in their own corner and did their own thing, fine. Whatever. Stay there and be delusional. The issue is that they do not do that. They are disrupting Reddit as a whole. They are manipulating information. They are threatening people for no reason.

this was the rationale for banning The_Donald as well, and admins refused until 3 months after they had already migrated off-site.

we're not advocating for anyone to go into any of these communities, which is why we don't name them in the post. we just want them off reddit.

that's exactly what it is. don't like it? stop spreading covid conspiracies, or go somewhere else! it's really that simple.

and they're wrong. their beliefs are fundamentally not based in reality

it's not just "a" mod, it's hundreds of mods across an equal number of subreddits, and we're all calling for the admins to do something. Why not actually read the post in /r/vaxxhappened so you actually know what you're complaining about?

if it were just me saying so? sure, i guess, but the point of the protest is to show that it's not just some jackoff with an axe to grind, it's a huge part of the userbase and mod community who want these communities gone. the /r/vaxxhappened post is about to break 100k upvotes.

i'm not advocating that these communities ought not exist, i'm just saying that reddit shouldn't tolerate them.

My question is this, is the misinformation posted on Reddit actually propagating harm?

the more often it is seen, the more often it will be believed. that's just the nature of human psychology. having it on such a large platform means that many people would start believing in conspiracies that otherwise wouldn't have, if they hadn't been exposed to the information.
