Yes part of the life cycle is in the soil.

Systemic is your best shot against thrips, there will always be some hiding out where your spraying and wiping can't get too. I would treat every single plant with it if you think there's a chance they've spread.

I kept it in a six inch but I split a couple pieces out to another pot

I put leafless nodes on some wet perlite and stick in my prop box, I've seen root growth in as little as a week and maybe 2 to 3 weeks to see the leaf starting. Prop box holds 90% humidity, warm temps and has grow lights.

Treat like any other scindaptus or pothos, they do grow a bit slow in my experience though so don't get discouraged. Also that looks like the Costa farms pot, I'd recommend repoting asap, they really pack them in tight

I love the Adansonii sparkle.

Yep that's what they're actually meant for, to control mosquitos in outdoor water sources. I put in my backyard pond and rain barrel.

Yea these guys root really easy in water. I use perlite and they're fast in that as well and I find the transition to soil easier.

What do you use for light? Or is it naturally lit? I was thinking if making one for a darker spot in my plant room.

If your not opposed to using a pesticide and are somewhere that it's obtainable, I'd highly recommend treating every single plant with a systemic.

It has more than enough light to do what it needs so it's not making the chlorophyll. Giving it less light will force it to increase chlorophyll in its new leaves

Also I think once the leaf goes 100% white it won't be able to make green leaves on that vine unless you cut it back.

Thrips can fly.

Looks like thrip damage.

That looks like a thrip.

COMMENT 11d ago

Def confirm this, I swear my Micans gets damaged from looking at it to hard.

And in time you will have more pothos than you know what to with.

COMMENT 12d ago

Each node will start its own vine.

Everything still looks green, heat probably just made it angry. I think it'll perk back up.

1

COMMENT 13d ago

If you divide it it's already going to have roots so not much reason to put in water. But if your thinking like cuttings then they won't grow roots.

2

COMMENT 13d ago

I don't think so, I'm pretty sure you prop alocasia by division. Either dig out off shoots or bulbs.

COMMENT 13d ago

As long as it's getting good light it shouldn't fully revert. That leaf could be a one off or continue to the next one it's hard to know. I personally like when they get the red patches.

3

COMMENT 13d ago

It's not a stable variegation so they do weird things sometimes, like getting patches of rojo congo.

Still doesn't hurt having it in there. Will still prevent other bugs from being able to move in.

Unfortunately no as they're not insects.
