It's not disingenious to ask someone making a claim to back that claim up with evidence. In fact, scientists all agree that if you make a claim, you should be able to back it up. Feel free to look that up, it's on Google somewhere.

According to CW Ammen, "olivine sand ground to a flour makes an excellent investment mix -- 2 parts plaster of paris, 3 parts olivine flour." (from the book Metalcasting). Not too far off from other DIY investments I've seen online with PoP and sand.

An oldtimer I worked for used playsand and PoP in equal parts, but I never saw him sucessfully make an investment casting, they always cracked in the burnout chamber...

Of course, this will set up in its container over time, I know some slurries stay liquid in their containers. But you can just make smaller batches for when you need it.

edit: There was an actual ceramic shell recipe in the book too: 6.65 quarts ethyl silicate, 22.5lbs 200-mesh fused silica flour.

Strange that he says it is not scoliosis, but a muscle imbalance. There is both structural and functional scoliosis, I have the latter and working on the muscles helps. It could be feet, hips, ahoulders, neck, jaw or tongue. All these (and probably more) can cause a functional imbalance like this.
