My 2.5 year old is often caught sitting next to the robot vac with it flipped upside down. It’s a terrible nanny, an absolute pushover. 0/10 recommend as a child care provider. Does a decent job picking up crumbs and pet hair, though.

I’m on adderall. Just went from two regular 5mg/day to one 10mg extended release plus one 5mg as needed in the afternoon. My main side effect is dry mouth. Sometimes I get a mild headache if I skip the afternoon dose.

Edit: also, the dry mouth leads to drinking more water which of course leads to needing to pee all the time. Kind of disruptive. But it’s easier to get back into work mode when I get back to my desk, so it’s still helpful.

It’s a really fine line for me with the caffeine. Too much coffee or too strong and I’m still tired but jittery as well.

I never liked coffee until my mid-20s. I worked at a small business and the office building was this little old cottage with poor insulation and drafty windows. We had an unusually cold winter (Florida) and I started drinking coffee to stay warm, thus the dependency was born!

I have to have my morning cup, as soon as possible after getting up. I used to have two or three before I started my meds. I generally can’t have hot coffee in the afternoon, it gives me a headache. Sometimes a weak cold brew is fine, especially if I don’t take my afternoon dose of adderall. But never after 3pm, either I’ll have trouble falling asleep or I’ll wake up at 2am and be unable to fall back asleep.

Apparently my relationship with coffee is more complicated than I realized lol!

Hi Dad, I didn’t know you had a Reddit account!

I wouldn’t be surprised if we never saw Denise Richards again.

Cries while stuffing my face with cupcakes and ice cream because I ran out of meds and have to wait for my appointment with my new psych before getting a refill

I second the cool drink. I always feel like it’s too hot, but then the water cools, so gotta turn it back up. Rinse and repeat.

This actually happened to me delivering both of my children. I used the tub as my pain relief, then suddenly it was TOO HOT GET ME OUT NOW. Second baby ended up born in front of the toilet lmao.

I have three kids and no money. Why can't I have no kids and three money?

I’d say King of Queens, According to Jim, maybe Everybody Loves Raymond?

Tim wasn’t just loafing around at least. He definitely was bringing home good money from the show. Jill was able to stay at home, then pursue a degree. He definitely messed stuff up though with his DIY shenanigans!

I am the exact same way, and it sounds like we have similar hair. I have a very short time to get my hair sorted after my evening shower (have little kids that need to be in bed by 8), and wet hair makes my scalp dermatitis go nuts. I bought a Denman brush, so I quickly rake some gel through my hair, then use the brush to encourage the curls. There’s lots of tutorials out there for it, it’s super quick. Then I have a $30 knock-off Dyson hair dryer, and I diffuse upside down for about 10 minutes on high speed and heat. I leave the gel cast intact, then “scrunch out the crunch” when I get up in the morning.

If I can leave my hair alone and not twirl it, it lasts a couple days. I did do a big chop over the summer, so it barely brushes the tops of my shoulders, and that definitely shaved time off the routine. If I didn’t blow dry, my hair would still be damp like 12 hours after washing!

Yes! They’re like movies, half the time I’m not in them, or I’m someone else. They were on a whole other level when I was pregnant. The worst was one where the “ultrasound” was basically a c-section, but then they put the baby back in and said I still had to push it out. Then I left the doctor and suddenly it shifts to being Jurassic Park and I’m trying to outrun the T Rex. I still remember that dream vividly 8 years later because it was so ridiculous.

I actually did the opposite- got a teaching degree but I do grad level advising! I’m not organized enough to create lesson plans and keep up with grading, so I knew by the time I graduated I wasn’t going to get a teaching job.

My position isn’t straight advising, I’m a program assistant so I do everything that keeps the academic side of the program running. I most enjoy working with the students, but my admin tasks like faculty effort reporting, course scheduling, and fee structures are boring af and I’ve missed deadlines here or there. What makes it a good fit with ADHD is there are so many safety nets, and there’s a petition process to fix just about anything regarding student issues.

For her third birthday, my oldest told me that she wanted lemon cake with berry filling and blue frosting. Don’t underestimate a preschooler’s ability to describe and request desserts lol.

And even then, it says “don’t” not “won’t”. I currently don’t eat a few of those things, like I’m not out here going to the specialty fish market to buy snails, but I’d tear up a plate of escargot if the opportunity presented itself. However, I’d never eat liver unless I was genuinely starving.

I was just thinking that as well. It’s probably the most expensive thing in my house.

I use Silly George serum and it made my lashes way longer, but not thicker. Basically just extends the life of lashes so they grow longer before they fall out. It took about 5 weeks before I really noticed full results. I’m very happy with it, especially considering it was about $35.

Really you just need to make sure you're able to pay all your expenses without taking on debt. Try to save a buffer/emergency fund.

You mentioned your from Portugal. What's your visa situation? I'm assuming you have permanent residency, unless this warehouse job git you from F-1 to H1B.

What was your thesis on? Can you pivot to something like teaching English as a second language? You can also look for staff positions at colleges and universities rather than teaching. People shit on humanities degrees, but those soft skills can allow you to be flexible in your career choice. My husband has a history BA, but does fundraising pulling $75k with full benefits. He's 3 years in with good growth potential.
