Velikovsky would be a better comparison.

By definition, a parody is a comedic commentary about a work, that requires an imitation of the work. Satire, on the other hand, even when it uses a creative work as the vehicle for the message, offers commentary and criticism about the world, not that specific creative work.

"Eat It" (the song) offers commentary about fussy eating, not Michael Jackson.

He also does older songs ("American Pie" for example)

He did a parody of Lola by the Kinks, American Pie by Don McLean, etc

I rewatch the Fantano review from time to time.

If you know the position of a particle exactly in some dimension, then you know nothing about its momentum in that dimension.
You can also see this for a "particle-in-a-box" with infinitely high walls. If the width of the box goes to zero, the ground state energy goes to infinity.

Ever notice that Weird Al has never released a Beatles parody? He would likely be in a world of legal hurt if he tried.

If you actually constrained it to an extent of zero, then the uncertainty principle gets you into trouble.
It's considered a 2-D system because the system has no degrees of freedom in the 3rd dimension.

But "parody" has a specific legal definition-- the parodic work has to make fun of the original in some way. For example, 2 Live Crew went all the way to the Supreme Court to defend their parody of "Oh Pretty Woman", and won 9-0 because their song was deemed to be ridiculing Roy Orbison's original song & message, and was therefore fair use.
In contrast, there's the "Cat Not in the Hat" case, where the Dr. Seuss estate successfully sued a book publisher for making a Dr. Seuss-like cartoon book lampooning the OJ Simpson trial. There it was deemed to be not a parody, but a satire. If you use someone's art to make fun of someone else, it's not protected.
So Weird Al does need to get permission. It gets weird though, because, for example, the song "Eat It" is technically not a parody of "Beat It", because it doesn't make fun of Michael Jackson, but the video is a parody because it does.

It behaves like a 2-D system according to the laws of physics. For example, the density of states of a 2DEG depends on energy just like you would expect for a 2-D system. It also demonstrates the Quantum Hall Effect, which is not seen in 3-D systems.

Fun story: a few years ago I entered a Parks & Rec trivia contest with cash prizes. The name of our team was "Money Pleeeease!"
We won. I think we netted about $160 each.

If you have friction on both the floor and the wall, then the problem becomes statically indeterminate.

It's the little "he he, whoah" phrases he mutters under his breath that really make this work.

The live analysis he did at Lindell's cyber circus was just the most obvious live display of incompetence.
The folks on QAA think he was trolling them.
