It's not going to dodge an AShM, you're right, but given the ranges some of these missiles have, the LCS can cover a lot of ground in that same time period and can be no where close to where the missile was shot at. Yes, I know most missiles can get mid-course guidance but that still doesn't guarantee it'll have the legs to catch the LCS being much further away

Nope. The Zumwalt is half again as large as the Tico but has fewer VLS. In the USN at least, Cruiser implies a ship with flag facilities. That is the only meaningful difference between a DDG and a CG, and that's the reason why the Navy isn't calling Burkes CGs even though they probably could based on their firepower and capabilities.
