Yeah dude, and if all 3 of us had been doing 2k damage it absolutely would have mattered. Like I said, we were killing it fast because two of us were on the ball, and we would have gotten our whistles with or without the third guy's negligible contribution. It's the principal of the matter, not about the level of difficulty, and the fact that you don't see that makes me think you're the type to sit there auto-attacking when farming HW mounts because "DPS absolutely does not matter whatsoever."

I got the goobbue mount from an irregular tomestone event.
But now I'm doing daily sylph quests anyways because my completionism won't let me leave any beast tribe uncompleted.
I'm literally picking up those damn carrots for no reason.
Someone send help.

I get what you're saying and even agree with most of your points, I just wish we could get a little closer to somewhere between WoW and what FFXIV currently has. I farmed with a group for an hour for a HW bird mount the other day. We were killing it fast each time, but that's because me and another DPS were doing 20k each. The other DPS was doing around 2k (and he got the mount first of course). It just felt silly that I couldn't really think of any legal way to point out that he was freeloading, so I just didn't say anything.
The current system prevents harassment which is undeniably good. But it makes it extremely easy for people to play horribly and let people who actually try to play well carry them.

I've noticed a really vocal minority of redditors who seem to be puritans with sticks up their asses the last couple years, who come out of the woodwork anytime anything with any kind of sexual undertones makes the front page

I could've sworn it was more common in HW dungeons and trials, but now that I'm trying to think of specific examples I guess you're right.

DPS THINK THEY CAN GET AWAY WEARING TOILET PAPER GEAR INTO LEVELING DUNGEONS SINCE THEY'RE NOT A TANK OR HEALER, AND THEN ACT ALL SURPRISED PIKACHU FACE WHEN THEY GET CLIPPED BY A RANDOM ENEMY AOE DURING A TRASH PULL AND FUCKING DIE

WE WIPED TWICE TO SUSANO NORMAL YESTERDAY BECAUSE MOST OF THE PARTY KEPT RUNNING AWAY FROM THE FIRST STACK MARKER AND LETTING IT KILL ME AND THE OTHER HEALER.
IT WASN'T UPSETTING, MOSTLY JUST FUNNY, AND WE CLEARED NO PROBLEM ONCE EVERYONE UNDERSTOOD THE MECHANIC, BUT I JUST DON'T GET HOW YOU CAN FOLLOW THE MSQ ALL THE WAY TO LEVEL 64 AND NEVER PICK UP ON WHAT A STACK MARKER IS. SURELY IT COMES UP MANY TIMES DURING HEAVENSWARD, RIGHT?

Ah fuck I didn't realize it was a video because it was taking a while to load, so I had my phone up close to my face, looking at in detail, then suddenly it started moving and I nearly dropped my phone in the toilet.
Nice art and thank you for the jump scare

I think one factor is that MCH is one of the easier jobs in terms of optimizing its rotation. You'll see MCH topping the chart a lot in alliance raids because a MCH playing their job moderately well is going to be closer to their max dps potential than, say, a samurai playing their job moderately well. But if both players started playing expertly, the SAM would surpass the MCH (assuming similar gear).

I have a few combat skills bound to shift, but none bound to ctrl because that can be awkward to reach in a pinch. I also don't have anything important bound to 5-9, since 1-4 are the only ones easily and immediately reachable without stretching at all.
Everything is bound to my 1-4 keys, my gaming mouse buttons, and the keys directly around wasd (f, x, e, q, etc.) This means that, once I've spent enough time with a job to get muscle memory down, I barely have to move my fingers to hit every skill, and never have to glance down at my keyboard during combat. I also put an extra hotbar with all my lengthy cooldowns close to the center of my screen where I can see what's off cooldown without actually looking away from the arena.
It can take some time and a lot of experimenting to get everything set up as comfortably and accessible as possible, but it's worth putting the time in up front, and then spending a lot of time hitting practice dummies or overworld enemies to really get it engrained in muscle memory. Raid mechanics are infinitely easier once you don't need to consciously focus much on which buttons to press.

Looks amazing! I've always used a 360 walk mod but I always hated how you would immediately snap back to forward facing the moment you stopped walking backwards (since it was only an animation trick, not actually rotating your character.) Looks like this mod fixes that.

Yes, freeloading.
Do you think it's acceptable to join a group working towards a goal, and roll for the rewards without contributing, adding extra runs needed to get everyone the mount and wasting everyone's time?
It was a small annoyance since HW unsyncs are a faceroll, but I was using it as an example to prove a point, and it's weird how many of you think it's ok to just let other people do the work when you join any kind of farming group.
