Is it worth it trying to find a PS5 or should I wait for the PS6?

Yeah exactly re ToS, it's good but I only watched it after seeing as the other star treks l, which are derived from it, so I felt like it was the opposite of groundbreaking if you get what I'm saying
I grew up in Voyager so, flawed as it is, yeah I love it. Some excellent sci fi in there.
Rick and Morty is obviously very different in a lot of ways, but the sci fi concepts are often extremely good, better than most real sci fi.
The trial of Gaius Baltar? I absolutely loved that. His character and development was so good.
That said, really the whole Greek myth stuff and looping time and weird angels is technically shit. But watching it I loved it and was dying to see where it went.
From the final five stuff on it was less good but I was so invested by then that I fucking loved it all.
What I really really liked with BSG was that the Cylons started off being an incredibly mysterious boogeyman that you barely saw. By the end of the show you've learnt everything about their society, seen everything inside and out, seen they aren't evil, just very different, have factions just like us etc.
The style and environment was huge too. The fleet. Like all of humanity reduced to a microcosm in the fleet. That works with me so well.

Haha not intentional, I swipe type so typos fairly often.
I know what you mean about like vs like. Some characters I like watching even though I don't like them personally. Can't think of examples at the moment though.... The Borg? Q? Q is a butthole but I like watching him.
Gaius Baltar is pretty despicable but I think he's one of the best TV show characters I've ever seen. I do kind of like him though. I like most characters even if they're heavily flawed.
Characters I don't like are one dimensional like.. chakotay or Jar jar

Ah ok. Yeah I watched the whole thing, at least until Amazon

Do you like the characters? Like when you compare them to star trek characters how much can you say about characters from either show?

Thanks for that, that all makes sense. Like others you focused on the realism, which is interesting, I tend not to be too focused on that. Sort of. I like some kinds of realism like character or behaviour realism but personally not too fussed with space realism. But I get the appeal.
I like Amos too really, but possibly because he's a hot meat head, which is kinda my thing. But also I liked the attaching himself to a moral compass thing, that was interesting.
Naomi I liked too but not a lot, like I didn't find get particularly interesting or fun or whatever... Just a good person and leader I guess?
The main guy was just too typical handsome hero man for my taste. Like I couldn't tell you a thing about his character.
I didn't read the books though, I reckon I might like them more

Ah interesting, another reply wed largely about the realism angle.
Interesting, thanks, maybe I'll check out an ep again and keep an eye out for the realistic details.

What the hell, it's a reboot?

Interesting, thanks
The realism angle I can kinda buy, the look and feel is quite like that, and I guess I do appreciate that aspect.
I skimmed through those bits you mentioned on YouTube and you're right they're pretty cool. Watching them out of context makes me think I'll like the show.
Bobbie was pretty much the only character I almost liked. I think maybe the character writing wasn't the kind that works for me, so I didn't get emotionally invested, so the rest of the show had no impact... That's my current theory.
That and because I wasn't really interested in the big mysteries for some reason. Normally I'd be gagging to find out what's going on

Mind telling me a little about what you liked so much about it? Favourite moments, characters? Or if you can, the general appeal the show has for you? I just wanna understand
For example with star trek the universe is fairly interesting, the characters are kinda enjoyable to spend time with - you get to know them and their lives and like them. Their technology and the science in the problems they face and solutions they come up with is interesting even if it's speculative. But mostly it's the philosophy, the moral quandaries they encounter. Like what's really going on and what's the right thing to do. But also, how should humanity be, what can we achieve as a culture.

I'm deeply into sci fi, books TV and movies, and love almost all of it.
But I don't enjoy the expense and I don't know why.
I'm not saying this just to be a dick I genuinely don't understand why everyone likes the expense, and I like every sci fi, but I don't like the expense.
I got absolutely nothing out of it, I don't like the characters. The first season was slightly interesting? Until detective cliche got to the station and cliche found the girl?
Oh and swearing old lady was fun.
I watched the whole thing just because everyone raves about it. And I still didn't like it.
Anyone else the same or can explain why?
Like what exactly did you like about it? What was interesting? What moments were awesome? Which characters did you love and why?
For comparison, my favourite is probably BSG. But I love firefly, all the star treks except maybe ToS, even the original star wars. SG-1 and SGU, Farscape, (new) doctor who, raised by Wolves...
Is it just me or are the expanse characters really shallow? Like if you had to describe each main character I can get maybe one or two sentences and then I'm like I dunno he's the handsome hero I guess.

Every president since Barack Obama has denounced the provision and demanded its closure, only to lose to influential lobbyists.
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday started a campaign to stop the loophole from being closed, saying doing so “would reduce investment, lead to widespread job losses and decrease tax revenues.” Mr. Wyden called the assertions “insulting to the intelligence of every American.”
Administration officials insisted that taxing the rich and corporations would help sell the bill.
“Should we let millions of children grow up in poverty in order to protect offshore tax loopholes?” Kate Bedingfield, the White House communications director, wrote to House Democrats in a memo on Tuesday. “Should we let middle-class families bear crushing costs for child care and elder care rather than asking the very richest among us to pay their fair share? Those are the questions before us.”

Rule 4 TIL the US has a "carried interest loophole", which allows private equity and hedge fund managers to claim the fees they charge clients as investment income, subject to low capital gains tax rates, not income tax rates

What's caused more harm? The prevailing Lebanese attitude? Or the Australian attitude? Look at the state of your country vs Australia. It's obvious.

1) it's not a lifestyle anymore than you being straight is a lifestyle
2) gay people can't change who they're attracted to anymore than you can
3) there's nothing illegitimate about being attracted to the same gender: it's common in the animal kingdom for example
4) there's no harm in it - they're not hurting you
5) your intolerance is harmful. You are less legitimate.

People are born gay and can't choose which gender they're attracted to anymore than you can.
If you don't believe this, why would anyone choose to be something so hated and reviled? Every gay person I've known has tried hard at one point in their youth to change, desperate to not be hated by the likes of you.
It is compassionate to accept gay people. Not worshipping Jews wtf. You mental case.
The orthodox Jews hate gays as much as you do how do you explain that.

People world wide, you mean like in the successful countries like Australia, UK, Canada, USA, New Zealand
We had a vote here in Australia on whether to legalise gay marriage back in 2017.
80% voted. 61.6% said yes, 38.4% said no.
This country is much, much more successful than Lebanon, sadly. But it's because things are done intelligently here.
God gave you a brain didn't he? See where all that hate got Lebanon?
