Honestly, I wouldn’t call it sadistic. For most people, especially kids, insects don’t really qualify as “Animals”, like your dog or cat. So, killing them means literally nothing. I have no qualms with smashing flies, ants, bees, any insect because I don’t view them as anything worthy of… care. But, I wouldn’t go around smashing cats heads in. I’m pretty sure this logic goes with most people. I honestly don’t see anything inherently wrong with it. It’s like calling a kid a bit sadistic because they step on grass for fun.
