There has been virtually zero relevant scientific data to show that mask mandates have any effect.

Well, it's hard to isolate the effect of a mask mandate from other mandates enacted simultaneously, such as cancellation of public gatherings or restaurant restrictions. There's also the issue of compliance and even changing habits when a mask mandate is in effect.

What's clear is that masks work. It's hard to imagine that making them mandatory will not reduce the spread of the virus.
