I think you got three options. You can tell your parents the truth and own up to it, or you can just tell him you didn't get the job and make up a reason if you have to and then realize you got to get your shit together enough to be able to not smoke weed in order to get a job, or you can make up a story for your parents about why you didn't get the job and then choose to believe that story and play the victim for a long time. I highly recommend against option three.
