Especially if your don’t care about going to the beach/swimming pool. Or being outside in general. Also I despise longer days.
Anything over 75F is terrible.
Cold weather gang rise up.
I love Autumn and Winter the most! 🍂❄️also the unique smell that a room gets when the radiators are on is just so cozy to me for some reason.
Agreed, to a point… There’s cold and cold. Anything under 5F becomes extremely chilly the second it winds a little, IMHO. The upside with cold is you can usually put more layers if you’re still cold. With heat, at some point, you’re half naked and still sweating balls…
For me there are blocks of cold. Start to need the winter coat < 30F. Need to start adding more layers <15F. Its starting to get noticeably colder every few degrees <10F. Can’t comment to much on colder than 0F as I’ve only experienced it a few times.
10F/-13C is a relatively comfy winter day up here haha! IMHO the biggest factor with how cold it feels is wind chill. -13F/-25C without wind is much more tolerable than 5F/-15C with wind bringing the feels-like temps to the former.
Not a fan of the beach or swimming, but I like being outside, but its too hot and too humid. I sleep better in the winter too. Spring and Fall are great with 75 F highs.
Spring was cancelled this year in my part of the world. Sucks because I enjoy that time too, 75 is where it’s at… instead we snapped from blizzards almost immediately into high 80 degrees
I like winter, and my part of the world doesn’t get it. A high of 35 is about as cold as it regularly gets.
Although in an interesting turn of events, not a lot of heat advisories or warnings for me. Heat indices staying below 105
but its too hot and too humid
Depends on where you are. A fair bit of coastal California has a Mediterranian climate – dry, warm summers. Somewhere like Arizona will get too hot for me, but it won’t be wet either. Coastal Alaska never manages to get all that warm.

I’m specifically referring to where I’m at now. There are some nice spots in the Appalachians.
The longer days are enough to make me love summer! Then there’s gardening, sweet corn, fresh strawberries, fresh blackberries, garden tomatoes, zucchini squash, mojitos with fresh mint from the patio, basil and walnut pesto, and grilling outdoors. There’s probably a lot of other stuff that doesn’t involve food or alcohol, but those are my favorites, off the top of my head.
Hmm. I didn’t think I liked summer that much either, but you’re making a pretty compelling speech there.
Amen brother
I don’t do any of that. And the idea of even trying to do it during this stupid humid European summer turns me off even more
If you don’t like being outside then how are any seasons different to one another?
Mostly just the amount of my power bill.
I too dislike summer. The parks are crowded and litter is everywhere.
Yeah, summer does suck. Some countries have monsoon summers though.
Those can be pretty cool
Especially if you don’t have AC
I don’t disagree. The weather, the seasonal allergies, and the mosquitoes are like the unholy trinity for me right now.
Beaches are for people that don’t have enough personality to admit that beaches actually suck. Movies, TV, and commercials love to glamorize being at the beach, and some people just absorb that without thinking. The sand gets everywhere (and stays there), the water leaves you feeling all slimy, and just getting to the beach is always a hassle.
I was just recently visiting Santa Barbara, California, which has world famous beaches. After being on the beach for an hour, I get back to my car and notice a thick layer of black sludge on the underside of my feet (I was barefoot in the sand and wearing flip flops elsewhere). I ask a local and he says “oh haha yeah that’s just crude oil that comes out of the sand because of the nearby offshore drilling. Always gotta bring baby oil to the beach so you can get that off!”
His nonchalantness about the whole thing is something I’ll never forget, as if it was just some cute local quirk
I could not be more opposite. I mean its not like the pools or the beach are the ultimate things for me but man I hate the loss of sunlight in the winter. Drives me crazy to already be losing light at 8pm. I have such a hard time waking up in the winter.
No way! Summer == camping time!
