I’ve often thought that, if I were to travel regularly by bike, I’d get a pool noodle and strap it to my frame so I have the legally mandated 3’ of distance.
Then I’d put paintballs in the far end and then I could tell who broke the law.
Wait, 3 feet??? That’s legally mandated??? What country do you reside in? I have cars coming within mere inches of me whenever I make the mistake of riding my bike on the road! Getting clipped twice as a teen by cars going 45 mph also instilled a huge fear into me, and I was absolutely hugging the curb!
1.5m in Spain. Super rare for anyone to get closer and if it does it’s probably a tourist. All drivers will just follow you until it’s safe to pass even if you’re going uphill.
Just because you drive on roads with dipshit drivers doesn’t mean it’s not law already. In the EU a meter distance when overtaking is normal.
1.5m when you are outside urbain area.
2m in Germany
I just checked my state laws. Apparently, the 3-feet law does exist! But I haven’t ever seen a single driver in my area adhere to it.

But I’m fortunate! Some states don’t even have laws about passing cyclists.
Personally, I don’t care if it’s legally mandated. It’s what is safe and I give bicycles 3 feet at minimum when I’m driving.
What kinda bicycle seat is that? Seems more like a scooter platform.
It’s a cargo platform on an extended-frame bicycle. The seat is out of frame.
It’s just a cargo rack
Pretty sure that’s the fender and the seat is in front of it with a weird perspective, cause otherwise the fork would be really far back right?
