Hey Everyone,
First of all, I owe you an apology for the lack of updates and communication from me. I totally understand the frustration from everyone and the feeling that the rug’s been pulled out from under you.
I’m not going to many any excuses, I can only express my apologies and plans to rectify this moving forward.
Next week, I will be working to fix some of the issues highlighted in this community: chiefly the inbox issues and switching to using the Authorization header now that Lemmy has made the change.
After that, I want to work with you all again as I did during the beta testing phase to figure out what priorities should be.
I of course, don’t expect anyone to take my word any face value but I hope that actions speak louder than words and that you’ll bear with me while I pick development back up on Bean.
It’s pretty late here in the UK but I didn’t want to head to sleep while everyone was expressing their concerns.

What you probably don’t know is that they sold lifetime subs to Bean, hyped on a multireddit-like functionality that was rather broken, and then pretty much bailed.
I haven’t used Bean after they closed test flight. When I saw pricing for the app I stayed subscribed to this community due to morbid curiosity because even then it looked very sus (app kept falling behind competition while being more expensive).
I wonder why anyone is using it when some other clients are free and miles ahead, some of which are similar in design. Buyer’s remorse probably.
I use it because the UI is cleaner, IMO. There’s a polish to the UI that other apps just don’t seem to get close to (how many use back buttons on the top left instead of a hamburger menu?)
That’s my reasoning too. All of the others just seem too busy.
I wasn’t actually aware that this was a paid app, but isn’t that something of an iOS thing…there always seems to be more paid apps on there, as opposed to android…🤷🏻♂️
No… it’s a developer wanting to be paid for their work thing.
