It’s not dark humor. There’s nothing to laugh about. Nobody was laughing when it happened, and nobody is laughing now.

Maybe I should go find some parents of school shooter victims, and make jokes about their dead children on the anniversary of the shooting. That’ll make me look funny

There is no reasonable perspective that could find the death of 2,996 people humorous. Yes, I acknowledge that some people find it humorous, but those are the people who need to keep quiet on a day where thousands are mourning

No, I would not laugh at starvation. I’ve faced starvation and homelessness myself. It’s terrible and feels endless. It’s despair. It’s not funny. 2,996 people died in fiery falling towers of molten steel and crushed concrete, so yes I do cry. I cry for those who no longer can.

Jokes are funny. Things that are funny make people laugh. Jokes that don’t make people laugh are bad jokes. Your jokes are bad. Is that simple enough for you to understand? I should just explain everything in every comment so you don’t nitpick my words while ignoring my meaning.

I guarantee you, if you showed this “joke” to someone living in Manhattan, who experienced 9/11, you would not have a good time.
