A cat with half closed eyes may be looking smug, but in reality that face means you got a calm, content cat signalling they trust you. I mean, they may be smug, but it’s completely unrelated to the face they’re making. In other words, FDC Willard is a happy, loving (possibly smug but who knows) co-author in this pic.
That cat woke him up one day so he could continue writing his paper. He deserves his contribution.
