Actually a lot of comedy is objectively bad, unoriginal, stolen content, simply cruel for the sake of cruelty in a way that is only funny to brutish thugs, or in this case, just lazy structure with no set up, no narrative, no sense of suprise, and whats worse is, as i pointed out, you could use better comparisons and at least not be absurd in a stupid way.
Thing 1 is addictive.
People told me its really addictive.
Its more addictive than thing 2.
This makes me like think thing 2 is not so bad.
This is not even a joke. Theres no word play, theres no setup, theres no investment built by anything previous, theres nothing shocking, I could go on.
Its actually really, really hard to pull off an actually funny joke in as few of words as this guy tried to.
I guarantee you he is yet another terrible modern comedian who basically just does the Family Guy recipe of throwing a whole bunch of random, not very funny and not really interrelated jokes together and just says them quickly in a manner that works only in a crowd where theres massive social pressure to laugh.
If you want to understand comedy try actually listening to or watching the routines of the greatest and most famous comedians.
Then try watching sitcoms with the laugh tracks removed.
Another good exercise is dissect a joke or satire and explain /why/ its funny, who would this be funny to, why would that be the case.
The subject of what is humor, what is funny is astoundingly complex and historied and I absolutely do not have the time to explain it thoroughly.
Anyway, I absolutely can belittle others who laugh at really really terrible and stupid jokes. One of the best ways to get to know someone is to understand their sense of humor.
And I guarantee you that any one who finds the joke I originally criticized funny is not creative, not very knowledgeable or inquisitive about the world around them, and probably also are very boring people.
You can be proud without belittling others especially over taste in comedy which is decidedly not objective.
