In the Sumy region, our units have started installing road nets against fiber-optic drones.
The bastards are complaining that we stole their idea, but this game can be played by both sides :)
When do we start seeing drones with saws of some form on them?
Probably around a year after a top secret research facility in New Mexico goes up in a nuclear fireball, much to the joy of a shower curtain company based out of Ohio
Are these effective?
i wonder how artillery shells impact the net
Bounces right off. I also have some ICBM netting if you are interested.
They should have just installed giant trampolines so that the missiles would get bounced back to their origin.

ReportingFromUkraine had a video a few days ago that mentioned Russians putting up netting like this near Pokrovsk (possibly different city/area). The Ukrainians used artillery to destroy a portion of the net and then sent in the drones through the gap.
(That’s what I was thinking would be the solution, thanks for confirming my hunch)
But yes, Russians have been attempting to use road nets for at least 3-6 months or so that I am aware of. It made the news recently because Ukraine started using them.
Once any kind of hole is in the net, it’s basically game over until it’s repaired. Drones, as you would expect, can navigate some really small spaces. This would be a bit more problematic for drones that are controlled with fine fiber optic lines.
