      No there’s no joke. It’s the same beetle, top and bottom. Split down the middle to be genetically male and female

          It’s so you can see the top and bottom. It seems pretty obvious it’s left-right that has the differences. Just look at the mandibles!

            I’m no beetle expert. I thought it’s a weird beetle that has asymmeyric pair of scissors, and male and female had left/right handedness
