Gators are lurking under this nesting hollow dead tree. Not one, but 3 barred owlets are in it & barely can hang on in high winds. Mum is nearby, watching from this little palm tree. If you didn’t pay attention, you wouldn’t even notice her: well-blended!

I’m a bit curious what will happen with these babies. Usually they do “branching” where they kinda do gliding hops to get from branch to branch to build up their flight muscles until they can actually fly, but this tree doesn’t look to have anywhere to hop around to. I’m trusting mother owl put some thought into this location…
