So I ran a marathon at the weekend.

I was going to say “my first marathon” - which it was, my first I mean - but that makes it sound like there are going to be many, which uh I don’t intend so much. Let’s see.

I expected a marathon to be hard. It was harder than I expected in a super interesting way.

Goals: (a) get round and (b) hit a target time of 3:45 if poss.

My time was 3 hours 40 minutes 12 seconds. I’m proud of that ngl (and wish I’d done better).

Ha, I love the typical runner attitude at the end.

Would I do another? Well, it definitely sucked and it was awful, but maybe cause I could do better next time. 😅

Personally after two half marathons I decided I really just much rather run 10k’s instead. They’re more fun and less hassle to train for, plus you can run faster so that’s nice. But there’s always that nagging feeling of wanting to prove to myself that I could technically complete a marathon if I wanted to, even though I don’t want to.

That sounds better. Me? I’l walk. I’ll walk for hours on end to relieve stress and stuff. I walk to the gym and such and then only spend like 15 minutes at the gym.

I used to walk everywhere as a kid (in suburbia Atlanta) with no sidewalks and shit and it just… was better. Who cares how if it took 2 hours to get there I just would time stuff around it.

Awesome bud, good luck to you. I don’t really find them “healthy” but that’s my walkers’ opinion.

Seems like I great time you got… and that is cool. Marathons are really cool if they pay out and you can go travel the world.
