    I might be wrong about this, but isn’t age verification only required by a handful of states? Why are they applying it to the whole country?

      There are very few companies outside the united states that care about the different legalities in each of the states. Much safer, cheaper, faster and efficient to just go with the strictest requirement for everything.

      That’s like, Bavaria asking international corporations to make special preparations for them; or rather all 16 german Bundesländer. Not worth the effort

      Easier to implement that way, and they’re on the safe side if one lives on the border, is counted towards state 1 by law but gets internet connection (or IP) from state 2
