First was me convincing another highschool to accept me and let me skip a year after I almost failed my first year in high school. Second was applying for my current university, with decent grades, but needing scholarship. Both times I spoke with people in charge of making those decisions through online interviews and managed to convince them to take chances on me
Yeah. People often complain that connections get jobs, but a big problem is showing others that you can do the job. If someone has already vetted them, it makes the selection process easier.
