Could you elaborate, since I have absolutely no clue what connections significant enough you are making to say this.

In feudalism, you know full well you’re being exploited. In capitalism, you might not be aware of it, but you still are. The idea is that you’re being paid for your work but, if the pay is so little that it might as well not matter to the payer at all, and is hardly a living wage, then we’re essentially back at square one.

Granted, I don’t think we’re as close to the grain of outright slavery that feudalism was, but on a long enough timeline, we will be. Companies will want more and more profit, taking more and more from the consumers and working class. People will either fight back or… put up with it.

Change the word share holder to slave holder and things start to make a lot more sense.

If rent is the only thing keeping you from enjoying life, there are several solutions to your problem.

Capitalism does not keep you from enjoying life. Creating a Boogeyman does.

You’re right. Silly us. It just ascribes a price tag to everything that slowly rises while your wages don’t. Then it effectively locks you in place through pricarious financials.

It doesn’t though. Plenty of free things you can do to better your life. Wages are stagnating? Review your career path. Need more skills? Educate yourself further. Need more money? Search for a new job.

The people “trapped” by capitalism are those who allow themselves to become complacent. Statistically, you will see a pay rise by changing employers. Increasing your skill set increases it further.

How do I know this? No diplomma and I make six figures. Take some personal ownership and improve yourself.
