Ugh. Remembering my days at help desk. Had to help this janitor for the library log into his computer for his yearly security training. It took literally hours to walk this man through how to hit CTRL + ALT + DELETE only for him to tell me he didn’t have a password… (Ofc he had one everyone in the entire city had one. So I had to walk him through the password reset process)

I feel for the guy in retrospect but damn did I need a beer after getting home

I can tell this story because the person was older than god 24 years ago, I’m sure he’s no longer with us…

“I only ever use two passwords - ‘pitcher’ and ‘catcher’.”

Edit Yup. Passed away in 2011 at the age of 73.

Is there going to be a time when old people actually know more about computers because they grew up in a time when you had to actually make an effort to learn to use them as opposed to now when corporations make them as locked down and user friendly as possible? I’m picturing the kids calling up Grandpa when they’re having computer trouble.
