Talk to your employer about taking on the role on a “fixed term” basis of say 6 months. Tell them honestly why and see what they say. If you’re concerned about the lack in money see if you can take the 9 to 5 and supplement with the odd Sunday shift back on the floor to prop the wages up if that suits you.

The gourmet stuff just seems to be missing the whole point for me, not saying its bad Ive had some that were really good but they just seem to be missing the point. Its never going to be good for me nutritionally speaking, its not going to be served at a michellin star restaraunt. It’s Macaroni and Cheese. It’s like corn chips, I’m not saying that the gourmet Deli ones are bad, but they arent Doritos. That orange powder is delicious because it’s fake and engineered. I maintain that Mac and Cheese is one of those foods that weirdly gets better the worse and more fake it is.

Women (and trans women) naturally carry a higher body fat percentage than men (Incl trans men) a “male” athlete can more safely and more easily carry a lower body fat % and therefore more muscle per kilo. So the weight classes wouldnt be able to be 1:1 if you wanted a level playing field.

There is still the inherent biological advantage in being born male and going through male puberty and developing a male muscular/skeletal system before transitioning. Very difficult to rule around every nuance of this though.

I like the idea of an E-bike but it just wouldnt be practical in my life at the moment. But its a pretty good community, generally stays on topic and doesnt degenerate into arguments.

My dad has one with saddlebags and says its more like owning a small motorbike. Sure he has to pedal but he never has to pedal hard. If you’re worried about looking like a dork Mercedes make ones that look cool AF.

cargo bikes are getting really practical if thats your bigger worry.

Buy a good lock and put an air tag on it though.

I worked with a guy that if he slept in or ran late for work tossed his gym gear on instead of his work clothes and ran into the office apologising and went to the bathroom to get changed.

People thought that he was a fitness NUT and he always stayed back to make up the time so he was called dedicated. In truth I knew he trained after work and regularly stayed up mega late playing COD and slept through his alarm.

Id say the one thing I kind of disagree with here is the emails. If I’m at my computer and the email says “Are you able to handle this 15 minute job for me by EOD?” I respond immediately “Yeah, I can fit that in.” and then go back to whatever it was I was doing and handle it later.

If someone is asking me to do a big job I dont reply immediately and go do some prep work for the big job and email them an hour later. “Not a problem, Ill get on it ASAP.”

If you respond and get tasks done immediately sometimes it makes them think you must be in the middle of something when you dont. When someone gives you a big task that will take 4 hours and they check in on you 3 hours after you reply to the email and you’re almost finished, it puffs up your ability.

But in general I agree, responding to emails is a great tool for managing perceptions and expectations.
