Most of the media, leading the charge on the outrage, are people who consider themselves fans of the material, and claim they aren’t racist for being upset over the change, just mad that they didn’t respect source. Then you look over their channel and there is not one single video, where they do this, when source material is whitewashed. Even though there is plenty of that, in the stuff they claim they are only upset over, because the source material wasn’t respected.

These are the people who stoke this outrage, they often started as straight fan media, but found out ranting about people of color, and gay people, being in media made a lot more money. Communities centered around the fanbase, for these things, are hotbeds of this behavior. There is no way you can make this argument, about these people. The people introduced to the media, by the movies, get mad because of these people.

I don’t know how you can not know this, and claim enough familiarity with audience statitics to make your argument. So I agree with others saying you are likely going out of your way to make this seem not racist.

  • Different, but still hiring fuckery

Friend applied for a job, database admin, HR called to set-up and interview. Two days later he got an email from the IT department, of that company, telling him that they weren’t actually supposed to be responding to applicants for the position. He emailed asking if the posted position had been filled, and then received weirdly worded response saying yes, but implying that it never opened for that particular job post. Then they stopped communicating with him. They were just posting jobs they weren’t hiring for.

He passed it all off to a link for, employment law, at the city chamber of commerce. Not that anything would be done.

  • Never heard of working both sides of a narrative? They absolutely do want most people to think Hamas has a majority support by Palestinians. If you don’t believe me, look in the mirror, and think about your own argument here. However, it won’t hurt that narrative to post this, as it is largely framed as a “can’t trust anything coming out of Palestine” narrative. The fine details of which will be lost in the fire-hose of reasons that Palestinians super support them, so it’s ok to kill them, rhetoric. Just look up how many articles out there cover this, verses how many ran with the false data.

However, I know you are completely entrenched in your ideology here, so I am gonna stop here, there will be no changing your mind.

  • Are you saying seizing other people’s lands, and expelling them, gives you the right to exist there? The zionists entered a place that was decolonizing from the British, and began buying land, that was already occupied, from the British, then began expanding, refusing to hire, or do business with, anyone who wasn’t jewish, and expelling the people originally there. You claim that imperialist expansionism is bad, but the moment someone points out that this behavior is the root of this conflict, you jump to the side of the colonizers. You can’t have it both ways. Either you are fine with colonial expansionism, or you agree that people being colonized can route the colonizers.

  • This happens in England fairly often, actually. The basic cops don’t have guns, they have specifics fire arms units. Sometimes detectives can carry, but they have to have a written justification for it, and it is very closely monitored. Even tasers are considered firearms for these purposed. They use a combination of PAVA and CS spray, speed cuffs, and, if the person isn’t deterred with the spray, batons. The batons are not allowed to be used on the head, and each use is investigated to a degree that would make american police quit.

So how it normally goes, police arrive to man weilding knife, give warning, spray, tackle, cuff. If the spray doesn’t seem put them in a state in which they clearly are struggling to function, they may attempt to hit them, almost always on the legs, with their batons. If this seems dangerous, they will surround the person with the knife, and call in a firearms unit. This unit will, with very, very, very, few exceptions, will use their taser to incapacitate the person. Is this systems perfect? No. However it is incredibly rare that police shoot people with guns. Police killing people, in the UK, for any reason, is far more rare.
