“A person is smart. People are dumb, panicky dangerous animals and you know it.”
“A person is smart. People are dumb, panicky dangerous animals and you know it.”
Legolas might be a better analogy.
The American Society of Anesthesiologists calls on Anthem to reverse this proposal immediately.
Anthem cackles and croaks, “You have no power here!”
And there’s no Gandalf present.
He changed his mind though…
…after three arrows convinced him of his error.
Constitutionally there isn’t a restriction for a self pardon. However it goes against the definition of the word and action. Some things by meaning you don’t do towards yourself. That probably won’t matter, since its validity is up to the courts and we know how they’re stacked to do what he wants.
The storage part is a big issue with current plans for CCS and DAC. If they end up turning around and repackaging the CO2 into something that can be released again, it’s only better than pumping out new petroleum and not a true reduction.
But the title is a bit wrong. It should be “Pulling CO2 out of the air alone won’t stop climate change”. Even if we dropped the CO2 level to preexisting levels (280ppm or even lower) there are still some feedbacks already in play that wouldn’t suddenly stop their contribution. It would be far better than continuing to add to CO2 for sure, but there is still going to be some climate change and adaptation needs regardless of how well we act. And of course, we are not acting very well.
My hot take on the sequels is that the first one was a decent start, and they screwed up the whole plot from there. It had some issues mainly in dropping subplots, probably because what was intended to be followed up wasn’t thanks to different plots and directors.
The prequels should have started with the Clone Wars, covering more of Anakin and Obi-Wan’s relationship, with an occasional flashback to the earlier Anakin to fill in his past. Being a fan from the early years, I didn’t like the prequels that much initially, but the story grew on me after watching them a few more times later along with fan commentary over the years. What I do still think they suffer from is making Anakin’s fall too sudden, and if we got a better sense of how much he and Obi-Wan were brothers in spirit, the eventual fall would mean more. There would also be more room to develop the friction he observes with the Jedi Council, maybe even take things to a new level in why they don’t let him progress. I guess I basically see TPM as a wasted first part to better establish his character.
Is there a variation of the game like that? And that includes both sides’ pieces, right? There is a case of making a piece too powerful for its own good.
It was rushed, with approval, because people were dying. I wonder if there’s death projections on what-ifs where we waited to get full trials, or we just didn’t do anything. I seem to remember people who believed vaccines did actually help were in favor of quick action.
They are all about trying to pin Biden on mistakes made, maybe even some that are legit. Do they say anything about the President who set things in motion to allow the pandemic to occur to the world? I doubt it.
Depends on the cat. There’s some that will let you do just about anything and at most bat you with a paw, claws retracted. Then there’s others that if you don’t pay attention and pet them just a fraction wrong will take your arm off. Know your cat.
Literally waiting for the world to say something.
Would vaporization slow the material though? Perhaps the end result wasn’t a manhole escaping the solar system but a huge collection of microscopic metal fragments scattershot that direction. Which really makes the Mass Effect quote even more relevant to a huge amount of aliens somewhere.
Lazy simulation, just went with a stock chrome texture.
Looking at the examples together in context, slop is Google’s fault. Misleading titles and keyword stuffing, that was done to try and survive in the arms race created by search engine algorithms. AI slop is just icing on the cake.
That’s a good point. Elvish it is then.
Canon is that all deck plating has embedded various graviton generators. This is separate from the inertial dampening and structural integrity fields. There’s no single canon idea on how they work though (for obvious reasons) so there’s examples of a single generator that can be disabled, or many miniature ones through that are independent. Maybe that design is the one seen where a room or deck can be customized to a different pull than others. The holodecks probably use a much more advanced version along with other tractor beams to create the many forces needed for simulations.
But the best grav generator won’t save you if the inertial dampeners fail to dampen at a crucial point.
I think it’s far better to find someone you can relate to via their personality first. Everyone has their flaws, so if you’re weeding people out first from appearance and then trying to find the person inside to match, that’s killing your odds a lot. That being said, you can hit it off seeing someone first and then learning more about them, but I think that’s more true in real life where you can pick up other signals that online visuals just aren’t going to do, and those subtle signs will filter your image of them, whereas if you had a picture of them online you might skip over.
However I have no experience in the dating game and am biased as I found my wife of 35 years online back in 1985. Rather she found me in randomly looking for someone to chat with and things went from there.
I have a special love for the early Star Trek visions that found continued life in the Star Fleet Battles board game universe. I wouldn’t mind a jumpstart franchise using that alternate timeline as a baseline. So many things were used from it for TNG and later ideas. Eg., Borg had some flavor of the Andromedan tech in a lot of ways.
No, mental health is usually a totally separate coverage plan than health. Because why not make things a lot more complex and harder for people who need help? It’s like dental with completely different deductibles of their own, because your mouth isn’t a health issue…
