By any metric, the Conservatives had this in the bag. The Liberals had been in power for long enough for the public was getting tired of them. Sure, Trump’s talk of annexing Canada wasn’t predictable however the Conservatives had a golden opportunity to pitch themselves as the “National Unity” Party and fucked that up.
Sadly, the Conservatives are just going to double down on the same terrble policies and just ride the cultural war to victory.
