112·9 months agoThat’s why I hate that they started to call them artificial intelligence. There is nothing intelligent in them at all. They work on probability based on a shit ton of data, that’s all. That’s not intelligence, that’s basically brute force. But there is no going back at this point, I know.

47·10 months agoThat’s basically the whole reason an entire instance popped up dedicated to the topic (db0) AND its main community is the 10th largest in the lemmyverse.
The main mods and a whole lot of people came here.
This is one of the success stories of a major sub migrating here.

Your neighbor telling you that you left your car’s window open. Or you have a leakage/broken pipe/your roof is on fire/something is wrong that is advised to be taken care sooner rather than later. There can be legit reasons why people are trying to warn you in your home who don’t know your online handles.

Exactly. I see an insane amount of job postings for my particular field in IT and people are changing jobs left and right in my circle. Which is also anecdotal, so there is that.

8·10 months agoThe whole thing has degrees. I very much like to help my mother to update her browser. I really don’t want to help choosing a printer to my cousin’s second brother’s wife AND install it during Christmas when we are home and I want to just chill with my close family.
Yeah, like Nokia-bad. Wait…
