Yeah, I guess if they would have framed it as one month free it wouldn’t sound as good. I remember using it and completely ignoring everything but the actual Internet. Trolling on AIM back in the day was pretty fun.

So they were just giving away America Online by the 700 hour quantity? I now blame AOL for more than I had previously considered.

The online college I’m taking classes at has a whole long ass disclaimer about how using AI is forbidden. I’m positive the professors are using AI to grade. Bulletized strength and weaknesses that just parrot back what I wrote.

That thing looks pretty cool. I think I remember Jeff Geerling video where he did something similar. The concept is cool, but that many NVME drives that close will get HOT without active cooling. The other things is I assume they would saturate the PCIe bus way faster than an x86 mobo.
I’m not hating tho, I’m kinda jealous. I have 3 PI 4s and 2 of them boot off a NVME via USB. The third one has a compute module 1 on it so it has dedicated non-volatile memory. I’ve been thinking about netboot. I use them as a docker swarm.

I once had an Excedrin get stuck in my throat sideways. That was a pretty uncomfortable several hours of my life.
THIS. IS. MY. LAST. RESORT.
Qwant is pretty good, but I like my self-hosted SearX better.

Just watched it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lzPoG9H8Hlo it’s small, but still really cool
Hey thanks for that. I do like hackernews and ars technica. And I already selfhost a bunch of other stuff. So I guess I found what I’m going to setup next. In the past whenever I’ve looked into RSS I’ve found some sites go out of their way to try to stop it.
For example here’s a site I’d like to get the feed for featured reviews: https://rateyourmusic.com/
Short of scraping it with python beautiful soup I don’t see an easy way to get the feed.
Any good feeds you recommend?

"Shapiro says they are being raised on a 800-hectare reserve where they are being observed and cared for. “They can’t get a splinter without us knowing,”
I’ve seen that movie. But seriously, this company is clearly bullshit. It’s like 2025 Theranos.
The face of James Earl Jones! Jk, that is a fun fact I’m stealing for next time I watch a clockwork orange

“Furthermore it was said that a drone gun had triggered the panic, which is highly doubtful from a technical point of view.”
Anyone who’s seen the video can see it’s not a drone with a gun causing the panic. Although you couldn’t see it, that vehicle probably focused a high pitch sound to clear the road.
Edit: this is a different video than the original one I saw but it looks like they’re using the same technique here https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=CvY9sVUERV0

SearX is great. I self host the docker container for it and I love all the granularity in setting which engine to use for what type of search. I also use Kagi, but that’s because I support what they’re doing more than anything.

A stable diffusion plug-in or something to export 3d models for blender would be awesome. I’ve been waiting for something like that.
I remember our stupid prank back in the day was to take a screenshot of your desktop, make it your background and delete all your icons.
