I’ve loved Beth Gibbons’ singing style? voice? ever since listening to Dummy many years ago. I recently found out she has a solo album coming out next month. I’ve not listened to any of her solo work before, she only has one other solo album from over 20 years ago from what I can tell. I don’t think it’s trip hop, but I’m going to try give it a listen soon.
I play coop PVE games with random matchmaking, Helldivers 2 is still a lot of fun with random people.
Ice cream scoopin’, shittin’ poopin’, shittin’, poopin’
But more seriously, MF DOOM (RIP) is one of my favourite artists, but he’s been covered in a few comments already. But one of my favourites from him is:
Getting paid like a biker with the best crank
Spray it like a high-ranked sniper in the West Bank
I literally finished A Deepness in The Sky a couple weeks ago and enjoyed it.
RIP
Red Alert is also a classic
I finished Alastair Reynold’s Pushing Ice a few months ago and it’s kind of close to what OP is looking for. Also a really good book!
Jared Harris. He was also great in the first series of The Terror. I haven’t seen season 2 of Foundation yet but felt his talents were a little wasted in the first season. Season 1 was definitely carried by Lee Pace and the emperor’s storyline.
I loved the Raised By Wolves intro, the music was beautiful. The show was very love it or hate it and has sadly been cancelled :(
Also loved the creepy? music on the Severance intro.
Poop at work. Not only do you get paid to poop, you save money on toilet paper.
I started playing Darktide around a month and a half ago and I’ve been hopelessly addicted since
I’m only a casual metal listener who only really started listening to metal via power metal, but most metalheads I come across seem to appreciate most of the subgenres/metal-adjacent music. I don’t care much for elitism in music either - I’d say a lot of metal fans are quite reasonable and open to new sounds.
I hope more people post some newer bands, so I can discover some new music :)
I know I’m going to catch a little hell for them lol.
What’s wrong with them? I thought the whole Eternal Blue album was really good
When I need to get somewhere quickly: Carpenter Brut - Turbo Killer
Can’t explain it but I’ve been listening to Slipknot’s Psychosocial and Portishead’s Roads a lot lately, after not hearing them for a few years.
Yeah that’s a good take, it’s like a modern Fifth Element.
I have seen Chronicle, but I probably need to rewatch it. Not sure if they just had bad direction or writing, but they seemed more like siblings instead of love interests.
I actually liked Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets. Both main actors were objectively terrible, but I still liked the movie 🤷♂️
Have to agree with you there. The ending was the weakest part of it.
I unironically enjoyed Knowing (2009).
Also more light-hearted - Seeking A Friend for the End of the World (2012)
Not entirely disaster films, but the world ends in both.
I can guarantee you there were people in the 80’s and 90’s who thought music was better in the 50’s and 60’s and so on and so forth all the way back through time since Grog hit two sticks together rhythmically
