My biggest gripe with it right now is Teams own integrated audio/video settings. Maybe it’s just me not getting something but it doesn’t seem to override the system settings so I have to change it in both places if I want to change, like from speakers to headphones for instance.

It sort of makes sense - in many ways the EU is more like the USA than any one individual European country is. American states have a similar variety of laws, and are quite culturally variable too (certainly much more homogenous than European cultures though).

This exact thing happened to my partner. Her rep was like, what is a ‘Sick Day’?

It’s 50/50 for me. I think with what we know about science it seems pretty clear that we end when we die. And with all that we DON’T know about science it seems just as possible that consciousness is eternal.

I really thought we’d have a vibrant post pandemic ‘roaring 2020’s’. Seems like it wasn’t handled right and so we’re sort of still stuck in the same doldrums.
Knowing how they feel about ‘intrusive government regulations’ in OK, probably gonna hurt a lot

This is the best fucking thing I’ve heard in months
I didn’t used to think this but now have come around to believing that it’s about how old you are because I dislike both the prequel and sequel trilogies but most people younger than me generally feel as good about the prequels as I do the original. Which seems like an obvious difference to me but I guess it’s that bias.
Is there a specific reason you didn’t like it or more a general meh?

It seems like such an easy call - give anyone who might bring unnecessary political pressure a ‘time out’. Could keep it entirely neutral like that if they wish to appear above the fray.
Would be better than what they did as allowing Israel this year can easily be seen as a very political endorsement.

I would think the very people who watch and participate are exactly the ones who would oppose Israel. It’s a very woke broadcast.

It’s so difficult to navigate and enforce with first amendment rights.
I think the only real solution is media literacy classes required for every student. We’re deep into a critical thinking crisis in the USA and I fear it’s already going to be tough to claw back from it.
I also very strongly believe that somewhere between the boomers and the zoomers we’ve forgotten to teach some important things about our civic duties and it’s ultra important to start again, again if it’s not already too late.

It truly is madness the things the state will concede to private business, naively ignoring their own soverign interests.
Potatoes, tomatoes, corn, beans, squash, chili, cacao, and vanilla
It’s either that or investment/disability insurance
